Radar Renegade RT Tyre review, great off road & 4x4 tyre at a great price - Diesel Tech

Great looking tyre, great value for money in our opinion.
We have not been doing great distances since we fitted this set, but with the difference in terrain that we have driven on they perform great.
Tar mach, sand or rock terrain, at this stage we cannot complain.
We will closely monitor these tires & provide our honest feedback & opinion on them as time goes by.
*PS , 2500 miles or 4000 km review, not 6400 miles as per the video info, mistake on my side.

I bought a set of 285/50/22s for my 22 inch alloys that are fitted to my 1999 mk2 pajero , they look fantastic, but I did take the time to trip the little leftover rubber bits that stick out from the lettering, looks way better and easier to clean and shine up.

Hi Fritz, dankie vir jou boodskap & die support op die videos, ek is vreeslik agter wat uploads aanbetref, maar ek weerk daaraan, belowe. Ek het so rondom 15 000km nou al gedoen en is nogsteeds super happy met hulle. Hulle lyk nog great sover, ek kan genuine nie kla nie. Ek sal hopenlik binnekort kontakte vir suppliers kan begin uitgee vir aanwysing aan mense. So stuur vir my gerus 'n epos na [e-mail] met jou kontak besonderhede, dan kan ek 'n update gee sodra ek meer inligting gekry het. Is bly die review help met 'n besluit, bande oor die algemeen is maar aan die duur kant en glo dit of nie, Radar is nog in die goedkoper vlak is sommige van die ander 'name brands' op die mark vir wat jy kry in return. ;)

Best regards from Italy, Florence, I have looked on the internet that this is also measured in size 205-70-15. I want to buy it for my Suzuki Jimny 4x4 truck. I have looked at the radar RT MT tire card and they consider it a tire and the half between an all Terrain and a mud Terrain! How do they behave on the streets on wet and snowy pavement? Thans Florence. They are quite good with wet conditions from what I have seen so far. Snow we do not really have too much of where I stay in Cape Town. So I cannot comment with an honest review on the snow. But the guys drive them in the states as well where they have snow, so I'm sure the tires fare well in the snow as well. Hi there, I cannot really say as I never used the BF brand before. What I can say though is that I can buy an extra (5'th tyre casing) for the same price as 4 BF Goodrich tyres in Southern Africa. The prices of BF Goodrich simply got insanely high lately. Hope it helps. 🙂

What's your tires PSI when on the highway? sand and rock?

Sand 15 to 17psi (1.0 to 1.2 bar), rock 22 psi (1.5 bar) , highway 36 psi (2.5 bar)

Hi what is your verdict on the renegades after a year?

Hi Johannes, we recently did a trip to the Northern Cape (will try and load the series soon) of a total of 3500km, of this at leas a 1200km were gravel roads of which a long stretch was past Kliprand to Pofadder & also the Karoo on the way back and we had no issues whatsoever (fortunately I must say). So in all honesty, I really like these tyres and would do the next set on the same brand if I could at this stage. 🙂

Hi Joe, if you mean towing as in the case where the vehicle doing the actual towing job / work, I cannot really say as our vehicle is never used for towing trailers or caravans etc. But seeing that they have 12mm tread depth, I recon the longevity should be better than worse over the lifespan of the rubber. Hope it helps. 🙂

Hi Andre, very much so yes. They both look & act the part. 😎 However I would rather recommend going with the Patriot brand. It is the exact same product from the exact same factory, just brought into SA by Cooper tyres, which means they have a much larger backup footprint than that of Radar Renegade, which is brought in by Exclusive tyres. (Cape Town based) The manufacturere is called Omni-United, very passionate team in their products. I love these tyres.

Anyone have trouble balancing them. I bought a set and my garage guy said the first tire is 5lbs out of balance 🤕. So not sure if that's comon or if I have a defective tire . Only have the 1 tire on the rim at the moment.

Nothing out of the ordinary on balancing on our set. 5lbs sounds impossible, is it not perhaps the rim that is damage or untrue causing the difficulty of balancing the wheel?

Not too loud, noticable at places where the surface is really really smooth, but other than that not really loud.
