Painting is a new hobby I have taken up over the past year, inspired by Cinnamon after I stumbled on her videos on KZbin. I've wanted to try to paint this one for a while, and now I'll paint it in Cinnamon's honour. It will hang on my growing gallery wall, and it will remind me of Cinnamon's Light, which she shared with us all so generously. May her spirit soar and her light continue to shine down upon those she loved ✨

Just beautiful! Seeing the finished picture first i convinced myself I wouldn’t be able to paint this. Your step by step tutorial gives me great hope. I’ll watch again to hear and see the steps again. Then watch a third time while I paint. Thank you, Cinnamon. You’ve given this 71 yo and her daughter hope and confidence.

Already looking beautiful! I need to stick my toe out a little further and try acrylics. Right now I'm angsting over watercolors and graphite/ink washes. 🫤 Am thinking now that acrylics would've been the more natural progression from colored pencils to painting due to the layering in both mediums. 🤔I have to run, but, saved this for later. Have a super day! 😀🌹

@@TheArtSherpa this is the best thing to come on here and see this and oh yes I’m having an even a better morning now and thanks so much that means the world and just to give you an extra smile I may do a 3rd one because everyone including me went crazy over it so it’s giving me an excuse to do it again! And the mountain with the fog I almost got everything I need for that painting and I’m giddy about it I can’t believe what I’m able to actually paint now and I also have you to thank for that too for a big huge monumental part in that and now because I have confidence I get excited at what is next and I also go in your archives and find amazing tutorials and I look at them as all inspiration and opportunities possibilities which lights a good light in me like never before! Cinnamon, I wasn't going to paint this one but I wanted to watch it to see what I can learn...I was wrong, I need to paint this one because there are soooo many important things here that you are teaching that are ingenious, especially your use with the oval mop brush! I never thought to use it for the leaves and bushes...fantastic!

I just love learning this new approach to the lighted forest using more of a soft brush to achieve the background versus in some of your older ones where you used more of a harder bristle brush and scumbling it in . How do u make your choice on which one to use for diff projects? I don’t have enough experience to really know yet and would love to hear what u think bc I respect you and your work so much! Can I use mod podge gloss for the glaze? Or gloss black for background?
@JamieLynn-ut5cg Жыл бұрын
In substitute for AGL?
@TheArtSherpa Жыл бұрын
No sorry modge Podge would-not be good for this though its a great company and a col product. Try to grab a glaze medium for Acrylic Modge Modge may make one you can always check with their product experts online they make ALOT of cool stuff but I do recommend AGL for this

I haven't been here in forever, but I'm positive you used to use water when mixing your paints. Not as much as watercolor, but I'd come to acrylics thinking you couldn't use water at all, and remember being pleasantly surprised that apparently you COULD use water to mix! Did I imagine that, though, or did you change your technique over the years? (That's not me being critical! I'm just really curious and want to know if water shouldn't be mixed in after all!)
@veryberry39 Жыл бұрын
...Okay nevermind (kind of), I just saw you thin out some black with water. 😅 So now I'm curious when you would use water vs the glazing medium! Sorry, this has probably been asked a million times!

So, super random. I'm lucky enough to have gotten a drawing tablet! I'm still very much learning, but I've been looking around for videos of this style to follow through but digitally on a computer. Is that something you might consider doing? Do you or anyone know if this exists somewhere? Most of the digital painting tutorials I found are all about the tools or people just showing a video of them speeding through it without any explanations T.T

I’m following along and I find it difficult to paint along if you are basically using the same paint brush that you have in your store to create this painting. Can’t find it anywhere else. 👎
@TheArtSherpa Жыл бұрын
So that would be difficult and I’m sorry for the struggle you’re having. But this brush is very locatable. You mean the 1 inch oval mop by Princeton brush is a nationally distributed brush. Yes, I have it in my art store but you can find it online, and in most brick and mortar art stores this is a Princeton Brush. You can definitely find it in another place besides my store I don’t have any exclusive brushes in my store. I do try to keep brushes in stock. I also try to have a good price for those brushes. But even then, I’m sure with sales and stuff. It’s always a good idea to look at all the other vendors as well. I’m going to include a link to the Brush for sale at Michael’s to prove my point. www.michaels.com/product/princeton-select-artiste-series-3750-short-handle-oval-mop-brush-10518613. But again this brush is available and many other stores. the D brushes are not as available as widely is Princeton brush, but are certainly available anymore locations and just my store. I hope this helps you find the brush and have a better experience with the Painting
