I started Valorant last month and have been trying to improve. I watched a ton of aim and movement videos everyone talks about being further back from the wall, but this is the first time I have seen anyone comment about starting your peek from further back in order to get to full momentum before peeking. It makes complete sense when you are told and think about it, but the thought never crossed my mind. Great tip!

Another reason to only swing with a or d is so your movement is purely perpendicular to someone holding angle. Similar as trying to maximize speed with 2 steps vs 1, which is something I learned from this, thanks. Good video

Habits you should break coming from CS:GO to Valorant - Try to break the habit of crouching. - Try to break the habit of counter strafing in a fight. (Its a Valorant thing due to the move speed of the characters making counter-strafing in a raw fight suboptimal) - Try to break the habit of tilting the team. - Try to understand that characters are faster in the game and your momentum is typically faster. - Matchmaking is a b*tch

@karoli5012 Жыл бұрын
@@KuneshFromSkalitz Listen to what he said in the video. This guy's comment is technically true but I don't wanna ramble too much so basically close = move 1% quicker but opponent will see you before you see them (because they'll see your shoulder while you're staring at a wall)
@JoeFrogz11 ай бұрын
@@KuneshFromSkalitzit’s situational, the idea of seeing them first is also relative to your opponent’s position. In a nut shell the person furthest from the angle will have the advantage in terms of seeing the enemy first, but the person closer will appear to move faster. In some situations it’s better to move faster when peaking and others better to spot first. There’s no one rule though.
@wafflezshorts11 ай бұрын
I honestly thinks at the speed you swing while the enemy’s see your shoulder first it negates. Im immortal 3 and I almost never swing from further away, but I think a big factor of that is I rely on my aim a lot more. When you swing further away you see more of the map at a slower pace allowing you to counter strafe, but if you swing close you are committing to a fight with unknown conditions waiting on the other side. This close swing was actually popularized in CSGO and used to be called the Ferrari peek. But like you guys said, it’s all situational and both swings have their pros and cons so it honestly just comes down to personal preference.
@LimabeanStudios11 ай бұрын
@KuneshFromSkalitz while everything is situational, if you are already intending on committing to a hard wide swing it is often worth getting close to the corner for the extra bit of perceived speed. The most dangerous time to do the close corner peak is when the enemy could be close to the same corner. For example if you are swinging out ascent A main as a defender and an attacker walked up close enough to be looking at your corner with a large-ish angle (roughly 45 degrees) they will see you significantly earlier than you see them and it is unlikely your crosshair placement is prepped for that fight. Because of this it is generally risky to do the close peak if you have zero info on where the player you are fighting is. There is a good chance you have already experienced this by swinging out and being jump scared because someone is RIGHT THERE.

Dear Jaeky, I trust this message finds you well. It has been quite some time since our last exchange, back on May 8, 2023. I sincerely hope life has treated you kindly since then. I recently came across your latest KZbin video, "Radiant Movement Guide," and I must express my gratitude for the invaluable insights it provides. Your dedication to sharing expertise in Valorant has undoubtedly contributed to the improvement of many players, myself included. In the realm of competitive Valorant, I am pleased to inform you that my journey has seen remarkable progress. Having started at Soil 0, I am now proudly holding the distinguished rank of -1 Radiant, a feat I attribute in no small part to your informative content. Your guidance has undeniably enhanced my movement skills to the point where opponents question the laws of physics. They say I move like a quantum particle, simultaneously present and elusive. I suppose you could say my movement is so smooth; I leave a trail of confusion in my wake. As we usher in the new year, I want to extend my heartfelt wishes for a prosperous and joyful 2024. May it be filled with continued success, both in your endeavors and on the virtual battlegrounds of Valorant. Looking forward to more of your insightful content in the coming year. Warm regards, Kasu

@gee566111 ай бұрын
Question, seems like when you strafe between gun fights, you don’t counter strafe. But when you peek, you do counter strafe. It’s more consistent for me to slice the pie while counter strafing, but it almost seems like counter strafing fucks me up when I strafe between fights. It feels like I get stuck in my movement compared to if I strafed without counter strafing. What are your thoughts on this?
@CameronKujo7 ай бұрын
So its a semi-recent discovery that since your Valorant character model doesn’t have as many frames while walking as lets say cs:go, you are fast enough to where its quicker to just full stop rather than counter strafe in the opposite direction. You should definitely switch up your strafes in gunfights though!

hi, does v-sync really create input lag? i am forced to play with v-sync due to screen tearing (i tried every single thing against it) but people always tell me it's a bad setting.
@equinox369411 ай бұрын
Well for casual games its a blessing because responsiveness isnt the thing you're looking for. But for high paced games where every mili second count's Vsync actually reduces screen tearing by exchanging a bit extra input delay within your system and screen. I'd say its not worth it for val However if ur fps is way above ur refresh rate, then i can suggest that you can turn on vsync ultra from nvidia cp (not child p-) and use G sync , I've heard it gives out experience for both worlds. Here you go Short ans no, long answer u might try gsync or freesync
@Jaeky11 ай бұрын
Hey! V-Sync does introduce some input lag, which can affect responsiveness. If you're dealing with screen tearing on a lower refresh rate monitor like 60Hz, V-Sync might seem necessary. Upgrading to a higher refresh rate monitor, say 144Hz or 240Hz, could significantly reduce screen tearing without V-Sync, provided your system can consistently handle the higher framerate. It's a noticeable improvement worth considering if you're looking to minimize tearing while optimizing responsiveness.
@ghosting396111 ай бұрын

@Jaeky11 ай бұрын
Hey! Understanding when to use the shift key can be tricky. Generally, avoid walking when peeking angles as it makes you an easy target. Opt for full movement speed while peeking. Save walking for quiet movement around the map to stay discreet. When clearing corners or sites, try piecing together the angles without using the shift key-slice the pie methodically and jiggle each angle individually for a more controlled approach. Hope this helps clarify its usage!
