I usually don’t like watching playthroughs with commentary, but I like yours because you aren’t annoying like many other youtubers

It IS beautiful!!! It looks like REALLY GOOD 64 bit, polygon based, graphics!!! Never heard of this one before! Thanx for the heads up!!!

Saturn WAS actually a 64 bit console at heart!

You probably already discovered it but the pink spheres are meant to be absorbed by your radiant sword, by that you charge also a smart bomb. Thanks to you I have now a craving for that game, gonna pick it up this weekend

My favorite presentation from you since the Atari 5200 controller video. Fun to watch!

I played A LOT of Radiant Silvergun back in the days with my brother, it was truly an awesome game! Remember that you can use L and R buttons to activate the sword and destroy the pink bullets... doing so, you also charge up a bar and once it's full, you can use a super attack by pressing L+R!

Very nice. At least someone mentions Segas achievings in game history and put it in the right light.

Are you kidding? Sega was all the rage back in the day. It's not like it was obscure.

Holy crap that music is amazing and those graphics I didn’t play much on the Saturn back when it was new but damn I didn’t think you could squeeze graphics like that out of a 1994 console

Looks better than a freakin N64!!!

I didn't think I'd like gameplay unless it came from Cinemassacre, but you have a lot of commentary relevant to the system, so I like it.

one of these days I'll pick up a Saturn...

You seem to have a diverse collection, might as well share some of it! Even if others have done so already, you bring an interesting perspective.

RS is the kind of game, like Ikaruga, that you need to memorize by heart to become good at it. Some people love it, some others hate it. To me it can't be considered as one of the best shmup because these two games are totally different from Terra Diver, Battle Garegga, Kamui, Sonic Wings and other traditional shooters. They are gems on their own but different from the rest. I wonder how much people on the street "get" your Super Amazing Wagon Adventure t-shirt!

I think I probably actually prefer pattern shooters like this one.

BTW you were playing superbly well!!! Cudos! :-)

Thanks, but I feel like I may have only been playing well for it being my first time. I've since gotten a lot better. I know how to use the sword properly now :)

The saturn was much more advanced than the playstation1, for me the saturn and the dreamcast were the 2 best consoles.

Yeah, it IS how it was... Scrolling shooters you USUALLY DO die from one hit... There is only a small handful of games where you have a health bar. More common than a true health bar is a "shield" system. Sometimes the shield has one hit, then you get one hit. Sometimes the shield has a health bar, but it is very seldom that the player sprite has a healthbar...

I grew up with this genre in the arcades... early games in it, like Midways 194X series, had health bars. But even most of Treasure's own top-down shooters - for example, Silpheed: The Lost Planet (which I mentioned at the beginning of this video) - have some sort of health system.

Back in the day I would hate (in fact I know I did) this type of graphics. I found mid to late 90s 3D graphics as very lackluster for games that could easily be made in 2D for far better looks. Obviously I am not talking about flight simulators etc. But for example adventure games and shoot 'em ups, they were just very meh for my taste. (looks only). I never played Radiant Silvergun as I never owned a Saturn. Gameplay wise, not my type but it does look like a solid shoot 'em up. I think you did fine. :) Though seeing the enemy self destructing is funny. Did it feel pity for you? I kid, I kid!

I'm not very good at vertical scrolling shooters... but that was just horrible playing, even by my low standards. I definitely prefer _Layer Section_ and _Layer Section II_ to _Radiant Silvergun._ Much easier to approach, and the levels are a bit longer than _Radiant Silvergun,_ if using this video as a comparison.

Yeah I almost definitely will sometime. I do own it already. I'm sure I'll try to vary the systems and developers, though, so it might take a little time to get back around to Treasure and the Saturn.
