Excellent information presented in this webinar! As someone who's been practicing Active Surveillance for 16 years, my decision seems to be paying off as more and more technologies and techniques are now available than ever before. Having the clinical research trial data you presented (along with deeper dives now by me) will help guide what treatment I'll seek if/when the time comes for that. When I was first diagnosed in December 2008 I made appointments with specialists for all the various options at the time. There were only 2 proton beam treatment centers in the country at the time, so we went from WA to Loma Linda for that. Now there's a Proton center about 3 miles from my home in WA.

How do the margins vary with proton and photon therapy? This study looks at IMRT, but the entire dose is distributed through 2 beams vs multiple paths? What effect might adaptive therapy and gating offer advantage with modern photon therapy? As SBRT is being increasingly offered what are the side effect profiles compared as well.

PSA is a marker of tumour burden, clinical response to treatment and an indicator of the recurrence of disease for prostate cancer.
