Can't get enough powerstrokehelp.com, and as a combat veteran myself (OEF, OIF) thank you for what you do to help our veterans. I work as a National Service Officer for the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and I hold a special place in my heart for people like you. I also am a proud owner of a 1999 F350 Powerstroke. It is my pride and joy, and the first thing I bought with my deployment money... lol

Thanks for the cleaner tip. I'll have to pick some of that stuff up. I can attest to how well cleaning a radiator out can work. I had a 15 year old car that slowly started to heat up when driven on the highway with the AC was on, you had to cycle the AC to keep the temp from rising too far as it would just slowly keep rising. I pulled the radiator and flushed out the ac condenser from behind, then did the same with the radiator and intercooler. I was SHOCKED at the sand that was embedded in that thing, it looked clean enough from the front, but that was not the case when I saw the driveway. After the cleaning, ac was waaaay better, and coolant temp dropped way down, too far actually....it uncovered a failed thermostat that was stuck open and overcooling.

Another cleaner that works well is EasyOff **fume free** oven cleaner. The fume free kind is much more gentle than the standard cleaner. A complete rinse is important! Removing the cooler from the front is the best way to do this... You can spray them when installed but I found that junk tends to stick between the different coolers.

Good video! Surprisingly enough I use Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner on my home A/C stuff and it works great also and much cheaper than coil cleaner. But yea, every few years or so I do use a more aggressive cleaner.

here is another suggestion; to get the most out of the A/C Condenser use a Fin Comb to straighten any fins that are bent over preventing any air from passing through.

digitalrailroader The Harbor Freight fin straightener is decent but the plastic part of the "comb" is somewhat weak. Use it once and you may have to exchange it. But they do have a lifetime warranty. I had to use one on my home A/C condenser after I foolishly used a pressure washer to clean it out. Bill is absolutely right - use nothing more than a garden hose with a nozzle.

+Blaine Bugaski Don't Use a nozzle eather, as just as bad of idea as a Power Washer. Those fin's are very thin, and almost like Foil you use in your Kitchen. And I would think that the Fin Comb would be only be plastic! As they would also bend those fin's even worse if it was metal.

I would try getting a gallon of coil cleaner from a hvac store, and use a weed sprayer to apply it.

Correct I agree but you might need an HVAC license to buy it there, it would make it a lot easier and cheaper also de ácid/ coil cleaner from the HVAC store is of much better quality, I know I'm an HVAC guy great suggestion! :)

Bill have you ever thought of doing a video about the steering issues with 7.3 diesels and up? No one can seem to give good information about this problem and a lot of people I read have a issue with it. Its annoying when your vehicle weave back and forth going down the road and you constantly fight it.

Is it okay to have oil from the turbo going to the intercooler?
@alscompleteoutdoor9091

Yes,that's why they flush it out,some times you get alot out of it sometimes not that much but oil ends up in the intercooler no way around it

Please don't use coil cleaner on aluminum. It will eat it. We are starting to use aluminum radiator style coils in newer a.c. units and coil cleaner is a big nono. It's ok on copper, but aluminum will deteriorate.
