I keep coming back to this video once every 2 or 3 years. Honestly man, you should relearn it and rerecord it because it is the only perfect composition of a solo guitar performance that exists. And this is coming from a guy who has lived in Japan for over a decade and has access to videos in this country that you cant see. Your performance is the best. Please consider updating it.

Thanks so much for the kind words. All it takes is the desire to play and lots and lots and lots and LOTS of practice. Definitely learn the original first, it will help tons with this because basically I took the original and interwove the melody into it, so being able to play the original will help get the hand positions down. Good luck, practice hard, and happy strumming!

Dude, i played this game like 10 or so years ago, i was a teenager, and stunned me so much that i started to study guitar for myself, and over the years i almost finish the music teacher career, and ended playing on live every weekends for years, also teaching a little to kids with low resourses and lonely people. Your version was the most beautiful i heard on that period. I've never occured to me to say thank you. So here i am, watching you again since that years, remembering. Now im almost done with music, my path has been desviated to other new interests, but so now and then i return a little bit for some nostalgic moments, lol. Really, thank you. Sorry for bad englando. Best regards from Argentina.

@DanKoloKid7 жыл бұрын
Johnny Darko I've been teaching my student how to play "DK in Love" (another one of Kabukibear's videos) without the aid of a guitar tab. So, essentially it's an ear training exercise with the approach being to isolate the baseline first, learn it and then learn the melody before putting them together. I showed this video to illustrate how bass lines and melodies can work nicely together on a guitar. This song's OST features a female vocalist, making it super easy to identify the melody notes apart from the bass line. kabukibear AllllsoooOOoOo.. the fantastically unkempt hair WAS brought up as a precaution towards spending hours upon hours practicing guitar -- it's a natural side effect from being awesome at guitar :D :D
@JohnnyDarko017 жыл бұрын
+dan kolosowski that is exactly how I have to learn these types of songs. I only recently started to approach finger picking style its very difficult to put both together for me, though I can usually play them separate no problem. the second base note on every chord in this song is really tough for me to fit in sometimes
@DanKoloKid7 жыл бұрын
I find once both parts can be played separately the next step is to play the bass line while singing the melody, or play the melody while singing the bass line. I feel this achievement is the stepping stone towards playing both parts simultaneously with ease. Hope this helps :)
