I don't know why this popped up on my watchlist, but glad it did. I identify with Zachary on this in so many ways. I too made a decision years ago. I left my job and friends to go back to school in another state and went to study visual effects and animation. It brought me to such depths of anxiety and depression and felt totally abandoned by God. After alot of bad decisions and bad things happening to me I came to believe God stopped caring for me. Somehow with time, people, prayer and reading scripture I was able to get through, oh and with therapy as well.

at 11 my son was struggling to find his identity, then we found Chuck my son loved the show and asked if he could search Zac on the internet. Here we stumbled on Nerd HQ. Zac inspired my son to embrace his difference. No matter how much we told him he was awesome and being unique was okay, he didn't want to here it. But hearing it from someone who he looked up too was life changing. As a parent I was impressed with how genuine Zac is. The book sounds wonderful.

God bless you zachary I totally understand there are many times where I get depressed confused and for me taking walkes and talking to people who I don't know well it makes me feel good talking to people and sometimes they admit like hey!! I go through the same thing and doing this I feel stronger and it makes me feel stronger but at the same time it still gets to me but I am trying

Thank you for posting this! This is a blessing from social media. He speaks good truth. I always called the repetitive parent voices the "parent tapes" and even after 60 plus years they still have awful power. Thanks too, to Jared - because of his profile, Zack's message reached a wide audience.

Enlightening. I’m excited to read Radical Love and to share it with my children and family. All that you have shared is relatable. I’m intrigued by your use of “generational trauma” and I shall dwell on this term until I get the book. My thanks to Jared and Zack for their willingness to be so honest and caring. Stay happy and healthy.

So powerful! I hung on everything Zachary said! Im going to buy this book tomorrow. I resonated with so much that was said-generational trauma, understanding that those who cause us trauma have suffered trauma themselves, we are doing our best -all of us. I think I teared up during most of this video. Thank you Zachary and Jared for using your platforms to help destigmatize mental illness. ❤

I never thought it was possible, but I just gained even more respect for, Zachary Levi. I wish I could talk to him one on one and compare notes. I'm 50 years old and was just diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder on Christmas 2020. After dealing with what I call "the monster in my head" MOST of my life, it finally boiled over and I ended up in a psych ward on sulcide watch for four days.

Reading about Zach's personal journey I'm sure will help a lot of people. I started watching this thinking it was a form of a 'self-help' type book, then wondered if it was a 'come to Jesus' type book, but by the end thought it is just his story of his journey. Zach talks about therapy and faith a lot through out the interview, and not everyone has these.

A wonderful conversation but I have to admit I was thrown off at Jared's reaction to Zachary saying to shoot torpedoes down their hole. He clearly took it a different way than a star wars reference and made a throw up face. It's weird. Not looking to start anything, just disappointed that an otherwise good conversation had that in it. Hopefully he'll grow up in the future.
