Thanks Mo for sharing your knowledge. I’ve used your videos to review all of my layouts and I have had great recent success at local tournaments. I carefully matched my layouts and surfaces to maximize my Arsenal’s potential. I look forward to the next one. Enjoy your day.

Just curious on urethane what should those normally be? .75-2.25?

Thank you for the information that you continue to share with us bowlers every week. Just wondering would you consider drilling up a few pieces with the various PAP Zones and possibly use throwbot or maybe a staffer so that we get to visually see the differences? Granted do to the many varieties of bowling styles and PAP’s the ball motions will differ however it could provide us something visually to reference to go along with the numbers. I’m extremely interested in the information but honestly don’t have an abundance of equipment to experiment with.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZO4ZoWZosaVbqc That will get you an idea of the layout differences and how they change the roll and axis migration path. Not exactly the same as the ABC's but you'll get an idea.

Thanks. Can you drill the same ball in the 4 zones and record the same bowler throwing it? Then match the bowler's delivery to the best drilling pattern for them?

Does the same pin to pap measurements apply to symmetrical balls also? I know they flare different
@Highway69theoriginal4 жыл бұрын
If you didn’t already get an answer to this question, the answer is "no". Symmetrical cored balls use different measurements to control the flair potential.

I need some advice on a layout for a pearl asymm im around 500 rev rate, 4 1/2 over by a 1/2 up, pattern im needing help with is 43ft but only 20 mils im not getting much reaction out of my other equipment Most of my stuff is around 3.5-4 inch pin distances should i try longer pin distances?
@christopherascherl24115 жыл бұрын
Is this true for symmetric (as close to symmetric as a no thumb layout would be) and well as asymmetric balls?

I thought 3 3/8 pin to pap was max flare but in this video you have it in the twitch zone why is that.

That 3 3/8 distance is for a symmetrical cored ball.

@@joshuapaugh8271 The Zing in the video is an asymmetrical ball. On asymmetricals the pin to pap distance for maximum flare is between 2 3/4" and 6 1/4".

Mo what does flare mean just learning
@Nick.McIntyre5 жыл бұрын
another way of saying hook
@brianwaite8545 жыл бұрын
More flare does not necessarily mean more hook. There can actually be a point where increased flare can diminish hook. Flare is a measure of the variation of the track on the bowling ball. The distance between the first oil ring in the track area and the last ring is referred to as the amount of “flare”. Most manufacturers list potential flare in their specs.

@radicalbowling I drill 95% of My stuff 5.5 from pap and it doesn't slowdown hmm
@arandomcommenter70514 жыл бұрын
Use a stronger pin to pap under 5 inches and add some surface. Flare rings will actually open up rather than stacking on top of themself like it does with the long pins. Start somewhere in the stronger end of the “B” zone and go from there

Why would zone “a” not be good on the left?
@michaellopour74094 жыл бұрын
I think it's because the break point is less "beat up" so the reaction can be sharp without the ball causing it to happen? I'm not a lefty!
@CurtisL8.30663 жыл бұрын
Lefties get sharper ball reaction but less miss room because track doesn’t develop like the right side, so it can feel ‘squirty’ or too sharp off the end of the pattern. Lefties tend to like to play straighter and favor more blended reactions to control the breakpoint. We rarely need to make zone moves to chase head oil, so the use of higher rg, cleaner equipment is rarely needed.
@Mista8083 жыл бұрын
1:40 So what do these lines represent? When you say "So if I put that there" do you mean if you drill the hole at 4 1/4 inches, or 5 inches or WHAT is it that you're referring to when you say "if I put that there". I just need to know! I'm so close to figuring this all out lol
@jonathanleonard9063 жыл бұрын
This is referring to the distance between the pin and the positive axis point. You wouldn’t actually drill there
@brianf74055 жыл бұрын
So here’s an “odd” one...I recently drilled an Ebonite Destiny Solid at 2” from my PAP. It out hooks every ball I have currently. I’m 2-handed, high track (clips middle finger) and around 16-17 mph off my hand. Def rev dominant. I did put a balance hole in it and am considering plugging that hole as I feel it may have counter-acted the low flare layout by introducing diff back into the ball. Thoughts?
@corder_pounder23 күн бұрын
for a 2 handed that pin to PAP is too close i would’ve done 3.5 at the most
@marlowhuff59755 жыл бұрын
Is this the same for symmetrical balls? Last question what are the measurements for the no “twitch” zone
@KennyGrinols5 жыл бұрын
2.5 - 3.5 is the 'Twitch Zone'. However, I have 2 Symmetrical Balls that Mo layed out for me, one with a 3" pin and one with 3 1/4" pin, and they work wonders. So your mileage may vary.
