The opening of this song always makes me imagine my younger self running around the house in those simpler times ..

This song always hits something in me, almost like a longing for this past I've never been to, as though I'm experiencing all these events at once. I feel as though I'm a spectator being dragged through this family's life, and I feel all the pain and lost opportunities of this story. It makes me so emotional, especially once Ben starts to sing from his perspective.

What a story...sign. The tune is even more beautiful, especially a the turning point. "Father becoming a drinker...." That really hit me, letting me feel so lucky to have my family around. The album itself is based upon a fictional family. This song makes me weep like a child ironically due to how close it hits to home as myself growing up as the youngest and overprotective male in the family. Always trying to protect my siblings from the ugliness in the world and the helplessness I felt when we all cried in grief together as one knowing deep down we were just objects subject to the whims of life and the cold of circumstance.
