I've huge respect for Germans and Germany in general. After all the tragedies and difficult situations Germans had faced over the years, they still fought back and built their nation. Their economy, education, social security, healthcare systems; all are well rounded. Most importantly, they are humble enough to revisit history and learn from it. I'm considering to pursue my master's degree in Germany and can't wait to study in this amazing country. Also not to mention, German language is very sophisticated and has a different elegance to it. Much love ❤️

How did Berlin become the techno capital of the world?
@Shirley.Temper4 жыл бұрын
Probably because after the wall fell there was so much empty space in the old east of the city that it saw a cultural boom; artists, musicians and producers made good use of the space and set up their own clubs and creative spaces which, unlike during the DDR, would be limitless and they would have the freedom to express themselves more. Like most of the clubs you saw were in old warehouses or disused building (like the old Tresor was under an old shopping centre I believe). Most of these clubs became queer-safe-spaces and general safe spaces for creative exploration, and that’s why the clubs today still have that emphasis. Berlins always been a very artistic and creative city even from the 1920s so it bounced back in the 90s and just grew from there! It’s crazy the amount of history that actually the Berlin music scene actually has and it’s super interesting to read about

Furniture on the street doesn’t necessarily make a place “dirty”. And its not what makes it dirty in Berlins case. Although it doesnt help. It just has alot of straight up trash everywhere. Specially in the green spaces and streets, people just leave food containers, broken bottles, drug paraphernalia, and just random stuff. And its not just alittle its ALOT of it everywhere. Green-spaces are also not kept very well and theres lots of smaller vandalism as well. Lets not even mention the tag graffiti. Which to a point people can tolerate but there is not 1 empty blank space that doesn’t get tagged.

@Sergio Delgado, you’ve nailed it. And that’s what really bothers me about Berlin (and I am german), but also in many more huge cities on this planet. it is not well researched, It is the retarded radical leftist point of view which is spreading more and more and is the reason why Berlin is a shithole/slum and needs money from other states. The city is ruled by communists, it has the shittiest education system (which produces more leftists) and is filled with people from the 3rd world.

Nice video. A couple of other things to add: One of the reasons Berlin is different and is related to your comment that it is a magnet for those who don‘t fit in in the rest of Germany is that young people living in Berlin were exempt from military conscription back when that was still a thing. That attracted a lot of counter-culture and activist types. Also, I had an interesting conversation with a young Italian woman. She loved Berlin because it‘s so clean. I guess it‘s what you‘re used to.

I think that also the reason why some people might think that Berlin (and other bigger 'cosmopolitan' cities for that matter) is ugly, is because those big cities are getting more modern and more contemporary in comparison to smaller cities and towns that usually preserve that typical feel. I live in Belgrade in Serbia, and I can see that, comparing Belgrade which feel so strange and not cozy at all in comparison to some other smaller places, like Kragujevac, Novi Sad or Subotica
@anuragbhattacharya29403 жыл бұрын
You're talking about Berlin and I am ticking the boxes how all of these questions are actually valid about my hometown Kolkata. It has the same reputation in all of India because people misunderstand a lot of things about the city in which I grew up in and love the most. And this makes Berlin quite interesting to me. I guess it will feel like home if I visit someday.

As for every, other bigger city, Berlin got places, better not to go. Shady people of all kind, but there are other citys who are more "dangerous" First place, and thats for 100% is Frankfurt am Main, dont hang arround near Central Station. U will see people get beat up, or drug deals or people who take drugs. I dont judge this things, but if you dont like to see this? Dont visit Frankfurt Central Station at night. And if you are Foreigner, berlin is even less Dangerous for you. Couze Berlin is more on the left or free side, than the alt right. And unfortunaly thats not tru for all of Germany.
