The depth of detail, pertaining to your thoughts on placement of deck chairs, is simply astonishing. Truly.

What a stunning model you´ve built here. Followed your videos since you drilled out the holes in the hull. Been fascinated with Titanic and the story since Ballard found the wreck in the 80´s. Almost a life long obsession.... Well done on the model. Almost at the finish line! As a side note, glad you decided to include your handsome self more in the videos😉

Thanks! It’s been a long old project this. But I don’t miss drilling those portholes! Honestly that was a chore! Thank for your kind comment 🙂

Breath-taking details!! Never seen something like it. It's so great that it puts me off from building my own model, because I already know that I cannot accomplish that level of quality. Great job! Thank you for sharing fully all your sources and knowledge also about basic electronics and etc

Thank you for your comment Sebastian, Don’t let this one put you off your own though. I have become a much better modeller just building this model alone. You will get better and better as you push yourself 🙂

Hi there Steve, aye I’ll need to get it on the water in winter when the sun goes in a bit earlier in the day. That still feels a way off though!

Nice Rob, I was trying to think of a way to get the little people 'pegged' rather than just glued down. I may have to think about that in the future! Anyway don't they look good! I like the neat electrical sprung contacts. I can see possibilities with that idea too! Nice video as always. Regards JH ⚓

Thanks John, Interesting thought, I suppose you could drill very fine holes into the deck and the people and use a brass wire. Fiddly work though. It would work quite well with the more substantial figures, but the finer ones would be a struggle. Something to think about I guess, Thanks as always, and I shall be in contact soon. Robbie

Are there any reclining figures that can lie in the deck chairs?
@TheModelBoatGuy2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not. The best I have is sitting figures I can plonk on the side of the deck chair

Lovely work, I wish I had your skills that’s for sure. I’ll be a bit sad once it’s all done, perhaps you could make her sisters too. 😏

Thank you, yeah it will be strange once it’s done. I have a few projects lined up though so plenty more to get going with!

Did the figures come with the kit or are they Preiser or 3D printed?

Hi there, a few came with the KA add on set, but I bought a bunch extra from: www.scalemates.com/kits/zlpla-fs-01-titanic-crews-and-passengers-figures--1232823 www.scalemates.com/kits/tori-factory-fs-06-titanic-crews-and-passengers-set-3-1-200-trumpeter-titanic--1297098

While working on the ship. Have you use any magnifier to better see what you are doing?
@TheModelBoatGuy2 жыл бұрын
I sometimes use magnifying glasses when painting figures, for the rest of it, I just eyeball. But I have very good vision which helps! The thing that I find is most important is light. Especially in winter having sufficient light on the workbench is vital

The deck chairs had arms.
@TheModelBoatGuy2 жыл бұрын
Yep! I need to add them, I thought they might be easier to do with the deckchair firmly glued onto the deck. We shall see!

Might be a crazy, and lackluster idea, but is there a glow in the dark paint that could be used for the ‘Entrance’ signs? 🤷🏻♀️ Might be dumb so a preemptive apology🥴
@TheModelBoatGuy2 жыл бұрын
Hmm interesting idea, it’s certainly not a stupid idea. I’ll have a look into that. If there is some form of clear paint that glows that would do the trick
@barry-clark2 жыл бұрын
Great work as always. I believe the fore C deck bulkhead would have had a wooden handrail too so that will need a bit of paint to complete the B deck. (minus the railings which I guess you'll do at the end...)
@TheModelBoatGuy2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, yep I knew there was something! Good spot, I’ve done that bit now. Railings are getting done next episode actually, I don’t want to really go back to these places. And to be fair the time for worrying about things being delicate is past! It’s all delicate now 😛

What I dont like about this trumpeter is the thickness of the walls. They r too thick and doesnt resemble the real life. I'm thinking what can I do about my model to reduce that thickness, maybe order new deck walls
@TheModelBoatGuy2 жыл бұрын
You are not wrong! It’s really annoying, but what can you do. I know some people have used milling cutters to thin the walls down, but that brings its own problems. Some people have used photo etch add on sets that have sorted the issue. I suspect that’s the best way
