Later songs have captions (like '21 - date), but even some earlier ones as well. Basic translation of Alone: Oh oh… I dived right inside of you It was like a complicated labyrinth I can’t escape from it no matter how long it took Being not aware of it I found myself in a trap (I’m) suffocating, running out of breath Not being able to do anything I just I just cried Nothing but troubles, I’m becoming depressed At this point, let me forget it all As if you will just forget About everything Don’t stare at me with those eyes (It) doesn’t matter if it isn’t true If I can just accept it all Then it’s all good right? Oh oh oh It’s just an escape from reality Oh oh… I dived right inside of you Being entangled by lies I’m already tired and sick of it It’s just all a game Like tossing around sloppily After using me, you’ll just cast me away right? Right? Being not aware of it I found myself in a trap (I’m) suffocating, running out of breath Not being able to do anything I just I just cried Searching for a way to escape oh At this point, let me forget it all As if you will just forget About everything Don’t stare at me with those eyes (It) doesn’t matter if it isn’t real If I can just accept it all Then it’s all good right? Oh oh oh It’s just an escape from reality I’m just suffocating here I need to escape from this place here I wanna go away in 3, 2, 1 GO As if you will just forget About everything Don’t stare at me with those eyes (It) doesn’t matter if it’s all a lie If I can just accept it all Then it’s all good right? Oh oh oh It’s just an escape from reality Oh oh…

What is this song about? In my opinion, this is like their declaration of independence. Because this is the first song they wrote by themselves. SAIKI, the lead vocalist, says that MIKU writes lyrics that are a bit philosophical. This is something to consider. I feel like it's about the music industry and/or rock fans who have forgotten the love of music. And the attitude they have to rise from this place.

From Japan, thank you for your reaction to BAND-MAID. They have been together for 11 years, and the members have not changed. They have nearly 130 original songs, and are releasing a full album in August. They held a two-band live with Mexico's Warning in Japan on June 12th, and performed a new song that they collaborated on. Last year, they had a nearly sold-out tour of the US, and thrilled the audience at four rock festivals. They put on a great live show, so you'll definitely like them if you watch them. Next, please watch the live video.

I first discovered them a year ago and am still stunned by how good they are. As an old Led Zep believer, BM is the first band I've heard that I think is close to their quality. Kanami (with all collaborating) writes great songs. They all are virtuoso musicians, the main 3 (Kanami guitar, Misa bass and especially Akane on drums) are absolutely world class and some say the tightest rhythm section in music today. Saiki's voice is beautiful, as good as any and perfect for what they write. Miku plays brilliant rhythm guitar with an angel's voice and is one of the cutest women on the planet, you will see! As a guy you will absolutely fall in love with all five, guaranteed!

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!

Thank you for watching Band-Maid, still IMO one of the most underappreciated bands out there. This is the very first song that they wrote themselves, that their label allowed to them to put on an album. What they've done since then is beyond incredible, and I hope you check out more of their stuff. Their music is extremely diverse but it all has one thing in common - awesomeness!!! Musicianship is off the chain and their songwriting is nothing less than incredible. My fave band for five years now - and oh, do not miss a chance to see them live. It's electric, and there's a connection between them and the crowd that goes far beyond anything I've ever seen. Language doesn't matter. They've been around for over ten years now, and are ONLY now just barely starting to get the traction they deserve.

7-8 months ago I saw some Rush Time Machine tour video, reminiscing while watching fan-cams from the shows I attended. The KZbin side bar was suggesting some women dressed as maids at Lollapalooza last year. I thought I would check it out for a minute just to see what it was all about. An hour later I hit replay and watched Band-Maids set a second time. I was an instant Maidiac. I am a 59 year old rock fan that has been to 300 plus live shows of everyone from Yes, ELP and King Crimson to Rush, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden to Metallica, Rammstein and Anthrax. I agree. To be honest, the previous three songs (MVs) got a lot of attention, but they weren't made by the Maids, so I thought they would just keep falling off. But when I saw Alone, I was shocked. Welcome Master Mike to the wonderful world of Band-Maid. Glad you liked the song and you don't need to understand the language to appreciate great music. I always think of it as another instrument adding to the ensemble. Solos, yes, and they do it to serve the song. Kanami the lead guitarist is also the main composer. The Pigeon-hole is deep and diverse with this band, so buckle up and enjoy the journey. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘 Suggested for your listening pleasure: "Onset" OLV a fantastic instrumental. "From Now On" OMV another killer instrumental. "Hate?" OLV from the 10th Anniversary Tour Finale at Yokohama Arena. One of the few songs which doesn't have a overall positive message the Maids are known for. CC is a must as the lyrics is quite entertaining. This was song 27 of 33 for the night. You like solos...this one is a must see. "Manners" and "Black Hole" OLV from the Online Okyuji. A great two-for to get two completely different feels for the band. "Manners" a bluesy/groovy song and "Black Hole" as organized chao speed demon of a song. Topping out at 220bpm, their fast song in the current catalog. "Daydreaming" OMV rock ballad that will give you goose bumps "Endless Story" OLV also from the 10th Anniversary Tour Finale. Why we love our Maids. Humble and appreciative of their fans. A perfect way to end an amazing 3hr and 40min concert. Anthemic and rings out with crowd of the Arena. CC's also a must for this song, to understand what lead singer Saiki has to say. They also wrote a special verse for the concert (right after Saiki walks down the runway).

This was the first song they wrote themselves. Before this, they'd worked with outside songwriters, but lead guitarist Mincho kept presenting her songs to management, and finally this one was accepted. It's an absolute banger. Not long after this they started writing everything themselves, and have ever since, pretty much. Still love this song, and they still play it live I think.
@etoineschrdlu93826 ай бұрын
This isn't Band-Maid's first song, but it is the first one they wrote entirely on their own that their management and record label allowed them to record and release. Up until then they had been writing songs, not being allowed to record them, and they were quite frustrated. After releasing "Alone", they now write all their own music, and basically self produce their recordings. Their music is one of a kind and unusual in that the band isn't there to spotlight one performer, but to give everyone in the band their moment in the spotlight. At typical Band-Maid response is, "There's a lot going on here!", and that's because all five of them are killing it all at once: the bassist, the drummer, the guitarists, and the vocalists are all putting in the work and it all mixes together as they intended: to support the song. Kanami Tono, their lead guitarist, leads the band in composition while rhythm guitar Miku Kobato and lead vocalist Saiki Atsumi write the lyrics. They write their lyrics in a mix of English and Japanese. Miku particularly has a talent for combining the two languages to create puns, double meanings, and to guide listeners to unexpected places. Saiki's lyrics are pretty good too!

Welcome to Band Maid. Yes, they are catchy but can also be very hard rocking. This was their first self composed song. Since then Kanami wrote all the songs with lyrics from Miki (sometimes Saiki). These ladies are masters at their instruments: Kanami (composer and lead guitar), Akane (drums) and Misa (bass). Then there is lead vocalist Saiki who is perfect for the Band Maid sound and Miku Kobato (rythm guitar, pure energy, most lyrics, fantastic backing vocals and harmonies). Miku wasn't able to play the guitar when she founded the band in 2013. I don't know of any other band where the fans' playlists differ so much. So, this is just a quite random selection of songs: For some very special live videos try Freedom, Play, Real existence and Endless Story. With Moratorium (Live at Zepp), Rinne (MV) and Dice you can hear more hard rock while a more catchy song is Choose me (MV). And if you want to hear some ballads then maybe About Us (MV) and Daydreaming (MV) are good picks. But don't miss some of their instrumentals like From now on (MV) and Onset (Live). And finally a very special live performance is Manners/Blackhole (Official Online Live)🍌 And there is more: For example the songs with Miku in lead, their christmas acoustic concert and the 'cover band' Band-Maiko ;-) A very recent performance is 'Don't you tell ME' live from their 10th anniversary concert in Yokohama. But if you want to go on with earlier songs (2013-2017) then go with Thrill (MV, their first video), Real Existence (second video), Freedom(best LIVE performance), Choose Me, Play (LIVE!), ... Have fun... Po
Alone was the first song that Band-Maid managements company allowed them to write and record on their own. The rest is history. They signed with another management company that allowed them to write and record all their own music. I suggest you jump to one of their most recent releases titled "Hate?", the official live video they played at their 10th Anniversary Tour finale last November at the Yokohama Arena. Band-Maid has remained completely intact as a group in that decade with a prodigious output of songs(over 130). Their sound and their popularity has grown exponentially during that period (including the 2 1/2 year Covid pandemic shutdown in Japan that forbade large gatherings and foreign travel. Once you start reacting to their music your channel will grow from all us Maidiacs making comments supporting them and their music.

Sorry S.J. but I did a little research on the word “Oriental” and it seems that Americans deemed it as racist and offensive when in fact, it’s still used in other countries around the world and many Asians are NOT offended by it and some apparently even prefer it over the word “Asian”. I could be completely wrong but it’s what I found on the internet.

@ziggyphoto i poked around more too. TBH it's nebulous at best. It does seem to be mainly an American thing and based on the years of the source articles, a late 2000s to early 2010s thing. I ran it through my Asian friends as well. None of them cared for it but only one found it offensive. He is in his late 70s and a bit of an Asian rights activist though. I really don't have a dog in this fight but you really don't hear it much. You definitely don't hear it in CA out in the wild. You'd get raised eyebrows and side eye.

But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (130+ songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5XWaJppgpJnorM Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Hate?, Shambles, Influencer, Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, Bestie, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Sense, Glory and Unleash!!!!! (from their own Anime MV (series?)): kzbin.info/www/bejne/bX2lkHiGiJlrfqc) And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. kzbin.info Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYUJI concerts: 2023 Yokohama 10th Year Anniversary Concert “Endless Story” kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJKUqmCIh7uXbZI ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHLHiKF_h896l80 Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (February 14, 2020) “Domination” kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5PcgnaAo5ulj8k ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6K0n35_gbdoq5I Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD. And some of the better quality fan videos are excellent. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at an intimate venue: Shot by Pat McKee from their 2023 US tour concert in Detroit: kzbin.info/www/bejne/epjbhmCDi8-nl5I See the Maids 2023 Rockville Festival’s short-set perfection performance: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJu9nIGbpKygnsU If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, live streams, CD, DVD/BD & merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out: "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid MIDI covers: www.youtube.com/@DeanF_MIDI Reimagined compositions of Band-Maid songs: www.youtube.com/@fxdxmusic Band-Maid Members: Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. [BAND-MAID NEWS] BAND-MAID PRIME - Special Video Distribution Website. Along with nearly 50 great play-through’s by each member, concerts and skits, Band-Maid management / label(s) have included the Acoustic Christmas 2021, ZEPP 2018 and Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 concerts! Fans can now see more than 50 great live performances with awesome audio, etc. like Fate, I Can't Live Without You and the great MISA / Kanami exchange in Don't You Tell Me. Those concerts are two of the best produced & performed concerts ever recorded, IMO. bandmaidprime.tokyo The Maids SOLD OUT 2023 US & Mexico tour wrapped up and was a fantastic success. And so many great live fancams to watch! Their playing and antics were as fresh and fun to experience from first show to last. BRAVO Band-Maid!!!!! Mate - BandMaid are next level. Yeah, they're cute, but they are also all virtuoso on their instruments. There is soooo much for you to listen to. They are more progressive rock now, but their early material is just about the best heavy rock of the past 20 years. You should do "Manners" next, an heavy rock track off their album, Unseen World. If it blows you away, then you should jump on the Bandwagon and deep dive. And ... Akane is a goddess!!

No F bomb, but the reply to your initial question have the lyrics if you expand it. Thanks for checking out the band that even the snotty Rolling Stone magazine conceded to be the "best rock show of the day" at Lollapalooza 2023.👍

You sure it's not an F bomb, from day one I listen to this song and many times since then it always sounds like an F Bomb. I know I have looked up the lyrics and it's not, but it sure sounds like it. I would not put it pass Saiki, Hate anyone?

Come on dude, enjoy the music instead of being so concern on what they’re saying, you don’t need to know the lyrics to enjoy music. Neither english nor japanese are my native tongues and all I listen to is in those languages.

Please don’t stop the video with silly questions. Is it in English? Let the video run another 30 seconds for an answer. A guitar solo is coming. Duh.

No one says oriental anymore wtf is wrong w saying Asian?
@omdtdz6 ай бұрын
I'm half Chinese and honestly I prefer far east or oriental, it literally means Orient or of the East. I know the word has some negative connotation associated with it, but I prefer it to Asian. Asia is a huge FKing place, and honesty I would prefer not to lumped in with some of those Asian countries for what it's worth.
@DAVID-io9nj6 ай бұрын
Chinese here, and I don't care what I am called. Chinese term for ethnic Chinese and for the country of China is completely different anyway. And the same goes for Japanese terms for themselves and country.
@omdtdz6 ай бұрын
@@DAVID-io9njI think most of the people that get upset about this stuff are not even from those countries LOL. Much more important things I have to worry about. For what it's worth though I think once a reactor gets a few songs done from a band they should at least know what specific country they are from, and call them as such, and maybe learn the members names. It shows respect to the band and their members.
@DAVID-io9nj6 ай бұрын
@@omdtdz Yes. Obviously not all reactors are equal.
