RADIO HALL OF FAME SHADOE STEVENS 2023

In 2023, Shadoe Stevens was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. Comedian and television show host John Henson gave the introduction. It's hilarious. This is the acceptance with pictures and images from his career. Here's a brief bio:
Shadoe Steven has one of the most recognized voices in the world. As host of American Top 40 from 1988 - 1995, he was heard by a billion people a week in 110 countries.
His first major success, WRKO-AM in Boston, gave him a 33 share of the audience. In Los Angeles hebecame one of the legendary “Boss Jocks” on KHJ-AM. Then, he was made program director of rival KRLA-AM, and created a #1, Album-Rock Station on AM.
Next, a little AM station in Burbank was acquiring an FM signal and wanted a station more exciting than whathe’d done on KRLA-AM. Shadoe launched Alternative Rock Programming as “WORLD FAMOUS KROQ-FM.” He created the format, “All New Rock, All the Time,” the branding, inventive 3D audio-theater, production and special programming.
Moving on to KMET-FM, a struggling progressive station, he was the architect of what became the first financially successful Album Oriented Rock station in America. His production and marketing deliveredenergy and a sense of humor. He wrote an iconic jingle sung by the Pointer Sisters, and designed billboards in fluorescent letters posted upside down. It became the number one station in six months and BillboardMagazine gave him the Progressive Personality of the Year Award.
He went on to create thousands of national and regional radio and television commercials, and become a CLIO Award winner.
Next - “RhythmRadio,” “The Sound of the World In a Good Mood” - world programming with nationwide coverage in 30 countries and broadcast on the Internet in 7 languages.
Then, most recently - MentalRadio - an Immersive Cinematic, Audio Comedy Theater Series.
He started his career widely promoted as “The World’s Youngest Disc Jockey” - hometown radio station KEYJ-AM - Jamestown, North Dakota. He was 11.
In 2023, he was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame.

I have a Volkswagen car named Gol of the year 1989 here in Brazil. I also bought from the company Watemark several CDs of the American Top 40 programs that Shadoe presented them from August 13rd, 1988 to January 25th, 1995. So every time I go driving my car 1989 I listen to Shadoe Stevens presenting the American top 40, summarizing everything my car turned into a wayback machine. WOW!

I was one of the seniors in HS back in 1990 who was lucky enuf to be part of Shadow Stevens Grad nite. Our HS (South Milwaukee High School), and others won the opportunity to be part of a senior class trip to Disney all paid for. The jet was huge, private double Decker! We stayed for 3 nights all meals paid for anywhere we wanted to eat, having fun with other seniors across the country. One nite was 24hrs of Disney with top 40 bands live of our era like Paula Abdul, Boys to Men and more playing while the entire Disney parks to ourselves. No lines for rides cuz it was only us allowed, like they closed it for us! We even had $250 to buy anything...A few shampoo bottles may have been filled with a fav beverage, but no one got out of hand, thank you Shadow, for one of the best memories of my life....
