The greatest radio jingle for the World's Greatest Radio Station (and it really was)

Yeah, we'll never get another assemblage of talent that the great KSFO had, especially when Sherwood was there to anchor mornings. But then, General Managers like Bill Shaw don't come along every day either.

This was the very last thing aired on KSFO under Gene Autry's ownership. Seattle's King Broadcasting took over the 560 license when the piece was over, having just sold KYA to Bonneville, who in turn, changed it to KOIT. It was just after midnight December 13, 1983.

Fascinating, thanks for the information. I was raised on KSFO from the fifties. I missed the transition, since in '83 I was already here in Austria. cheers from cloudy Vienna, Scott

Shortly before midnight and the closing with Sounds of the City, the final thing to air was a recording of the late great Don Sherwood reading Winnie the Pooh

I remember. I was there, listening to the last minutes of the last broadcast.

This brings back fond memories of my time in the Bay Area during the 1960s and '70s. I believe the recording was done by the Johnny Mann Singers

I’d love to find the version of this song created for and played on KCPX in Salt Lake City
