Because of English's standing as _the_ international language, people are less likely to like a song in any other language, not to mention the fact that English is spoken everywhere more or less, and Dutch is spoken I think only in places that have had Dutch settlements, so more people would understand a song in English than in Dutch. Not to throw shade tho lol I just think it would have a wider audience if it was fully in English

She can't, in Dutch her pitch is even higher then in English. Besides that, her highest pitch is with the Dutch word NEE, in English It's NO and you can't sing NO is such a high pitch.

@@brianlespoir6287 you can do a very open "no", turning it into a "naw" instead of a plain "no" with the "oh" sound. I'm a guy, so it's not the same of course, but I've done it to sing pieces of this in English. The lyrics are largely translatable. I did a sort of home made translation myself. It requires some polishing, especially since there are things in Dutch, which I don't speak, that were kinda hard to understand to produce a translation that's close enough to the original not to change the message completely

I don't know precisely, but since I'm Dutch myself I think I should be fairly close. She sings about her husband/boyfriend leaving her, to go on a trip to some place. Idk if he's coming back.
