Great video!: Quick correction at 0:55 the reading is caused by Bremsstrahlung "breaking radiation" from the beta flying into the side of the glass vial and creating essentially x-rays.

If the secondary neutrons can reach rocks, why not chloride in the ocean? As to the muon reactions, I'm astonished! I had no idea how many muons were sleeting down through me every second!!

They can also reach the ocean but dating ocean stuff is done via other isotopes (Video about that, next week ;D)

A quick question Simon, back in the 70's~80's when CFC production was at its highest and there was a noticeable hole in the ozone layer as a result, is it possible that muon capture production of Cl 36 would leave a detectable layer on earth as a result of all the excess Cl 35 that would have been in the mid to upper atmosphere? I'm not sure if atmospheric Cl falls back to earth though or whether it wanders off into space.

Atmospheric Cl-36 is the Meteoric Cl-36 that I meantioned that is usually eched away with the HF. So I doubt there will be much data about it as its usually waste. But thats a question for the geo people^^

what happens to the soluition over time then? does it become sodium bonded with argon, or does the argon go on its own and the sodfium will eventually turn into pure sodium metal?

Its a aqueous solution so Sodium Metall can't form. Most likely as it happens so slowly a good chunk of the produced Argon will stay dissolved. The solution might turn basic over some Million years of you somehow manage to keep the air outside otherwise CO2 from the air would offset any effect.
