Reading this makes me happy. I love my bass; it's a great instrument in that the range of basslines - from simple to Les Claypool impossible - is so broad; there are always songs you can play, and always more challenging ones to learn. You don't have to be an expert before you can find something fun.

I also slow them down a bit, i think its good. My bass techer also told me to always start slow and make it faster when i feel comfortable with it. So just keep going like that

its not bad at all!! thats a good thing for beginners/intermediates or anyone really!! you can slowly work your way through the song and build up your speed while maintaining consistency!! i have to this with a few songs on not just my bass but my guitar as well. i personally see nothing wrong with it, and somebody would have to prove a really good point for me to think it was bad LOL. you're just learning your way, and a lot of people learn that way; including me!! i hope your bass playing has been going well :)
