I can't see how Jonny Greenwood (odd that he is) would play that guitar part out of objection to what he is playing, as this is the original recording.

It’s about not fitting in, being the “weirdo”. I think this song, on some level speaks to all of us, at one time or another. For me, high school. People can be so mean. Thom Yorke seems to be living the pain in an almost literal sense. He’s passion, his voice! What range. OMG! This is one of my favorite songs ever. Which says something. I’m 61 and you guys know how much amazing songs the 70’s had.

Hi George and Patrick. I've really been enjoying your reactions now for the last couple of months and I've been going back to catch up on ones I've missed. When Thom turns it up one octave heading into the final chorus push it's epic. George & Patrick the song doesn't have a deeper meaning than what you hear. Being in love or infatuated with someone that you feel is too good for you. Thom had a huge crush on a girl in college that he actually used to follow around but never even tried to speak to because he felt he wasn't good enough. He actually saw her once when she showed up at a Radiohead gig as well. Thom wasn't very happy with the song though. He hated the lyrics he wrote. The guitar player added those hard banging sounds at first as a joke because he didn't like it either. The public loved it & obviously it became a huge hit. But, it's loved so much that it's all anyone ever wanted to hear. Radiohead actually dropped it from their set to try & make way for new music. That song is impossible to break free from though because "Creep" will always be relatable to so many. Liking that seemingly unattainable person & wishing you were more. MANY have covered this song & argue that this person or that person does a great cover. In my opinion Thom Yorke's voice on this track IS "Creep".

The vibes I'm getting from this song are very sinister indeed. Dylan Cleebold, and Ed Harris who were bullied at school for being different and weirdos, and look what happened there. I'm so glad that you've discovered another truly great band. Radiohead, each band member, are virtuoso's at their craft. I compare them to the Beatles, and to Led Zeppelin. And as you find more about them I think you will enjoy that they are great "live" performers. The "From the Basement" videos are a treasure, and there is excellent concert footage too. I would suggest looking at their album release dates and taking them in chronological order. They have been fierce in creative changes, but still remaining true to their core. I look forward to more Radiohead. :-)

Tom is amazing! Wikipedia: “Thom Yorke's lyrics express an obsessive, self-destructive sexual attraction. When the song moves to the chorus, Jonny Greenwood produces blasts of guitar noise. Radiohead took elements from the Hollies' 1972 song "The Air That I Breathe"; following legal action, Albert Hammond and Mike Hazlewood are credited as cowriters.” Another great song to react is “Paranoid Android” the video is very “unique”. Thank you loves. Lu

Loved it when it came out, but knowing them more now, it's far from being my favorite of theirs, but sooooo glad to see you liking their sound. I listen to "Morning Bell" all of the time, but I never listen to their original! Thom Yorke is a great writer, and he can sing some of their songs perfectly for their songs' intentions, but I thought his voice really shortchanged the potential loveliness and the realities of his lyrics in the song Morning Bell. Instead, I always listen to the cover by Silence Fiction. It's gorgeous. I'm a big Radiohead fan... I should perhaps be suggesting more radiohead stuff, and I want to later, but I want to convince you to try this cover! Beautiful female voice, with good musicians.
