I did some research and this song (by my own so there might be mistakes in my analysis) revolves around the D major key but if borrows alot of chords to the D minor Key. So the intro progression is made of the following chords (in order) : F-Gm-D-F6-Gm6-D For the main riff : Dm-C-Em-D If you write both keys chords down(so D and Dm) you will see that both progressions resolve on the D but they do so in a really interesting way. I hope this is clear enough! If i made any mistakes let me know.

I object to your lack of effort into Jonny's part. That chord he plays is amazing. I think I figured out how he does it live: I believe he plays all 4 notes (D C Bb A), and has a different tuning than everyone else. TY search "Radiohead Optimistic Dublin '00." At the beginning of the clip, we can hear Jonny tuning for the song while Thom is introing. I THINK that in addition to the 1st string going down to D, the 2nd string comes UP to C, and the 3rd string comes up to A. So he's now tuned (presumably) DADACD. We never see him from the front well enough to see what notes he's fretting, but by playing xx8000 that gives us all 4 notes of his haunting chord (A C D Bb), and it sort of corresponds to where his hand his on the neck of the guitar for the chord, as well as the 4 and 3 note riffs he does between each strum of that chord. I think you could get away with just playing xx7000 too though, because it's dissonant as fuck otherwise. Thoughts???
