Reckoner Edited by Jeff Keiler
On August 23rd 2009, a group of Radiohead fans descended on the Výstaviště Holešovice Exhibition Hall in Prague on a mission to capture the band playing using as many different angles as possible. Bringing together the exceptional talents of many contributors, here's a glimpse of the result.

I've always thought that too! I wouldn't mind if the song was 15 minutes, with an extended ending with all the strings and reverbed electronics.

Something about this song sends me to a place where I would rather be, always and forever, no matter what is going on in my life and in my head, it always brings me back to an imaginary land I dreamed up when I was five

I used to just skip this song because all i wanted to hear was weird fishes and all i need. Now it's one of my favorites. I guess i used to skip all i need too because i only wanted to hear weird fishes but then that also became one of my favorites. Then again, i also used to skip weird fishes because black star, present tense and airbag was what i wanted to hear, now it's one of my many favorites. Though in hindsight, i also used to skip present tense because etc etc etc. I guess i'll just keep going until i stop skipping and just bask in the splendor of everything that is radiohead

@jurgnn Its a technique called head voice, only really expirienced singers who know what their doing can do it, but it Thom Yorkes case its because he has a naturally high ranged voice. Jeff Buckley was very good and mixing head voice and 'normal' chest voice together.

There is a gap between you and me. I'm sure, our secret worlds built in ourselves by a "simple" song like this, will never intersect with each other. Good luck in yours with other songs, I would dive in mine by this masterpiece. Maybe you change your mind if you take a last try with this flying in rainbows.

Ruger Dern the uses the same idea as scar tissue.....where u play only the necessary notes of the chord, so u end up with a nice space between the high and low notes.......if ur interested I think the intro riff is root notes and a third an octave up...... John and radiohead go together very well sometimes, a tour together would be perfect

This is the song's meaning, I have break it down, hopefully for radiohead lovers like me can enjoy such masterpiece inside out. Thanks to Thom Yorke and Radiohead. Also thank God for the creation of them. (Remarks: the translation is best i can do) 1. Reckoner in religion point of view is "god". God judges whether you going to heaven or to hell. 2. You can't take your life with you

It is an interesting interpretation. I have read somewhere that In Rainbows, but especially this song, is inspired by Goethe's 'Faustus'. This does not contradict your interpretation since Goethe's classic book is about knowledge and God. Maybe the only thing is that the rainbows have to do also with Goethe's ideas on colors and light.
@weirdgetsaround
@weirdgetsaround 5 жыл бұрын
i think your interpretation is interesting pal. i think if the song, with a vocal that is gorgeous even by thoms standards, can give people solace, then its serving its purpose. and i say this coming from what is, to say the least, a lapsed catholic perspective

Then what do you classified as a good song? Is Beethoven's moonlight sonata a bad piece of music because it is slow? Many think of it as beautiful and a work of pure emotion. But if I take what you said and apply it to then I guess the moonlight sonata is a piece of crap.

The problem is once you've seen them you can't go and see anyone else because they sound completely shit by comparison. That goes for other bands who's studio albums I love too. They're just on another level, simple as that.
