@mariodriessen97408 жыл бұрын
I'd kill for someone like you to build my board. I have the pedals and I know what I want with it, but I'm so f***ing clumsy. And there's more. One of the very best pedals I have is something that's very much like the Z-Vex Super Hard On with a couple of extra little things. Ever since I got it it's been on my board, it never came off and it always stays on because it cleans up every little bit of hum. I can use 15 different pedals on my board and without the SHO it'll sound like I switch on a vacuum cleaner. However, with the SHO switched ON, no matter howmany pedals I use, it'll sound like there's nothing in between my guitar and my amp. So you can understand why I am so glad with that 'Z-Vex'. It's the 'HOLY GRAIL' and it's MINE!!!!!! But now, since a couple of weeks ......, well I built a small pedal board for small venues. It's got like 8 small (you know these really small pedals nowadays), but really great sounding pedals on that board and the SHO is one of them and IT HUMS AND BUZZES LIKE HELL!!! And the worst part of this all is the fact that it's the SHO that causes it!!!! My favourite pedal, the secret of my great sound, is now the biggest pain in the ass!!! I'm broke, so this hurts. This hurts so much! :-(

what to do if you want to use reverb. delay etc without an effects loop? Ive got a Blackstar Artisan and has two seperate channels similar to a vox AC30 and was going to use a ABY box to put my effects in one channel and the distortion in the other. Would this be a better way to do this than putting them straight into the front of the same channel. thanks Joe +Daniel TheGigRig

Awesome video and so inspiring! And I have a question: Did you power the SDD 3000 through an Isolator or Distributor? I have a small rig, (Tuner > Dist > Dist > SDD3000 > Blue Sky) and I have this high currency output issues. So I'm considering of buying a Generator, but I don't know if I need an Isolator or a Distributor. Thank you and looking forward to Ed's third pedalboard :)

@justingarcia77228 жыл бұрын
Ken Gibbens I imagine it's pretty complicated. A while back I contacted a builder in the states out of curiosity, and this was for a small build, his estimate was around 1200 - and that was accomplishing a small fraction of capability demonstrated here. It seems like a lot but one has to consider all the nuances: at the most basic level you are paying for cables, power (crucial, Dan has exact custom individual power to each pedal so each pedal will sound its absolute best), a true bypass loop system (id imagine this is the attraction most players have in the first place) - essentially means when a pedal, or combo of pedals, is on they are looped direct so you are always getting the highest fidelity of guitar/pedal/amp tone...this isn't easily accomplished at a professional level, so that'll cost you. Additionally, the gigrig can switch order or pedals without touching them, it works as a ABC box, it has buffers, phase switching, literally everything and anything you could want so whatever dream rig you want can be achieved. With that said, time/labor factored, its prob expensive but alas, this kind of system really isn't for someone using a handful of pedals or not needing to catalogue decades of tones and materials. I think Dan also offers a smaller more pedestrian loop system. With that said, this work is genius and well deserved whatever he charges!

Hi Daniel. I have a number of stereo pedals on my current board. An ancient (and well loved) Arion Stereo Chorus (mono in, stereo out), then a flanger, phaser, uni-vibe clone, and delay. All of those pedals are stereo in, stereo out. I have the mono signal from the amp send go into the chorus, then out of that in stereo to the other pedals. Can the G2 support this many stereo pedals? If necessary, I can reduce to four stereo pedals (use a multi-fx pedal for the phase/flange) so I'd need 4 stereo loops. Have watched most of your videos and also subscribed. Wish you and your team every success for 2016.

Why would he use two delay pedals (Korg and Memory Man)? Also, what is the pedal at the top left corner (under the switcher board) with the red knobs?
@stevelark98405 жыл бұрын
I think that's a Dean Markley Overloard. It's a version of the TubeWorks realtube overdrive by B.K. Butler
@ripplebear Жыл бұрын
Multiple delays is just going to make it easier for him for the way he tweaks things live. And in the memory man's primitive form, he's probably very comfortable with the way it works and connected with the sounds he gets through it. They are definitely their own thing, too. But having separate delays ready to go, even though the Korg has presets, it's probably just second nature for him at this point. Most people wouldn't need multiple delays, but after all, this is Radiohead were talking about :)
