Radiola 394V working

A little video with a working vintage Radiola 394V probably from 1939? I have been working on it to make it work again and have come to a pretty good point were the sound seems pretty good but the resolution is not very good and the tubes are really tinted and likely used up and I am trying to get new ones for it to see how well it may perform. hope you enjoy!

Very interesting to see the Radiola brand in Sweden. Radiola was Canada's version of American RCA.

Thank you, I was very happy when I found this specific radio.I love the design of this radio and kinda fell in love with it, it was in pretty bad shape both on the outside and the inside but still repairable. the tubes were all working even if some were rather weak but I manage to get spare ones and have changed the weak tubes now and also changed a bunch of caps and it works very well after this I also stretch the cloth that was lose on the front and secure it again and some other stuff. I can't tune in any local radio here in Sweden because all bands except FM are closed down permanently but I got my home made tube Amp to use as a source and can play anything on it using the Gramophone input instead just to get the nice radio new life again and listen to the old sounds :)

It sounds quite good. But wow, no more AM band in Sweden? I didn't know that

justsomeguytoyou correct, no LW SW or MW band here anymore, only FM. I should though make a new video with the radio in current state, here in this video I play with the iPad directly connected with old tubes and some worn capacitors. It sounds much better now and when I use the tube pre-amp it works better than ever too

Yes I certainly do :) I have more than this as well. Such as a Teco Electric 1930 headphone receiver. Another 1930 radio. A Tandberg Reel to reel from 60s. Webster Chicago Wire recorder. A bunch of other philips and so on and a whole lot of completely home made tube amps. I don’t have most of them on KZbin yet but it will be future videos. I have some of my other stuff on this channel if you look around in my uploads :)

@@duongdinhdong it would be fun to have a video on your radio that closer shows the inside and tubes. Unfortunately I can’t understand what you say but I can still figure out what I see anyway
