There are plenty of ELRS receivers with built-in ceramic antennas for shorter range. As a protocol ELRS is far batter than most. It also gives some of the best options like flashing with a binding phrase so you never need use a bind button. Supporting a WIFI hotspot for configuration is next level as compared to just about all other receivers. While ELRS started with quads several companies make airplane receivers now with standard PWM outputs. So a flight controller is not required by any means. I bought the 4in1 radiomaster because I wanted backwards compatibility with some old stuff and the ELRS was still evolving so upgrading my module in the future is easy. I wouldn't be surprised if you pick up a ELRS module and never go back to any of the older protocols. I mean for a few extra bucks you can get true diversity or basically two RXs in one and run that with a Gemini dual transmitter module.

Oh yeah agree also. Can always slap ELRS in the bay in the back for not to much $. Just currently wanted it for binding to some LOS pnp or rtr planes I currently have. And yeah as more ELRS comes our way we’ll see… 👍🏻
