Among performances by Diana that you haven't yet reacted to, "Ornery horses" by Vladimir Visotsky - which she gave for the first time at the renowned Moscow bard club "Woodgrouse's Nest" in 2020 when she was 17 - and an old Russian folksong "Oh, it is not yet evening" - given the following year in episode #3 of ShowMaskGoOn - are two of her greatest so far. Both songs are highly poetic and very profound, and Diana sings/performs them with extraordinary passion and brilliance. Videos of the performances are posted on her own channel. Since the songs are in Russian, f you react to either of them remember to switch on the English subtitles that Diana has provided! (Diana has performed "Ornery Horses" subsequently, including a performance at the same venue in 2021 that is also posted on her channel, but I think the 2020 performance, where she is dressed in pink, is the one to go for.)

This is an old wedding ritual song, it's like a puzzle, it consists of phrases taken from ritual songs. Where it is sung in a whisper is like the words of a deceased mother, because in Russia since ancient times it was believed that the river is the border between the world of the living and the dead, as in the mythology of others countries. So the girl-orphan came to the river to tell the mother that she was being given away for the unloved, to a strange family, ask for blessings and cry. Это старинная свадебная обрядовая песня,это как пазл ,она состоит из фраз взятых из обрядовых песен.Там где поется шепотом это как бы слова умершей матери, ведь на Руси издревле считалось что река это граница между миром живых и мертвых,как и в мифологии других стран. Так вот приходила к реке чтобы рассказать матери о том что ее отдают за нелюбимого,в чужую семью,попросить благословения и поплакать.
