i have to say, you guys are by far my favorite pair of reviewers. your reviews are always "straight-forward" and don't waste time. you know what you want to talk about and make it interesting for the entirety of the video. most reviewers have 30-50 minute videos that i can barely stomach, but you guys continue to deliver every video. keep it up

Totally agree with you here. I also appreciate the "alternatives" section where they provide context for gamers who are looking to fill a gap in their collection. Helps you know the options surrounding the game they are reviewing!

I love your reviews because you tell briefly what you do in the game, and spend more time on reviewing it and actially explaining your opinions, and saying that "I don't like X but if YOU do, you might like this game" instead of just complementing the game or pooping on it. Your videos make it really easy for the audience to make up their own mind / opinion instead of just copying yours. So good job 👏

Indeed. The rapport is excellent, as is the humor -- particularly as I'm guessing English isn't your first language. Being funny in a second language is a rare.

Great video though I don't agree about all the cards being meat and never used the powers, it's all about using the resources you have in your hand, discard for insta effects but its all about timing, you can power up your people then you combo other effects and actions but when it's all that matters I love the game and I have 30 plays on my pocket and bever got tired , it has similar effect like res arcana, you have limited resources and linked cards but you have to workout from what you have to make the best engine possible, love your format btw, not too long not too short, cheers

For me, it is a very portable and fun game. In my case, I have been playing with casual players, it was a big hit. People got more excited with Radlands than 7 Wonders Duel which is also a 2p, small box, short session game.

I really like your reviews. “Straightforward” but a good straightforward and so far it really matches my board game tastes.
@sugar-grannyАй бұрын
For me, Radlands is amazing. It's definitely underrated. It's not just random cards that come into your hand and you play them. No. You have to choose between defensive and offensive strategies for different parts of the game. Otherwise, you're going to lose pretty quickly. So for casual players, it's going to feel like filler. But for more advanced players, it forces you to fill on the edge all the time. And then you have that game-changing moment where someone plays a card like "take all your people into your hand and your opponent has to do the same." And it's like you're starting almost from scratch. Such an emotional and smart game at the same time. 5 of 5

You can tell by the end of the review that Janis is just so tired of the game and is ready to be done. Thanks for sticking with it and giving us the full review, even when the game isn’t your favorite.

It was mostly the straight forwardness of Jānis T. ;)

For me, the best alternative is Summoner Wars! It's very simple in terms of rules, but it has 1000x more strategy than this game. Don't get me wrong, I really liked Radlands, it's fast and simple filler game and I think i made big mistake by purchasing retail version, instead of deluxe with playmats

Oh man oh man. It has been so long since I played Summoner Wars. And I remember liking it a lot, but having really nobody to play with. But now my son is old enough, maybe I should try again.

Nice review. The game has been out for a while wanted to watch a quick review of the non deluxe version and saw a video posted 8 hours ago perfect. Also nice accents

Sounds straightforward! It’s enjoyable, and the production quality is phenomenal- but it never ‘calls’ to me to pull off the shelf. War Chest, Air Land & Sea, and Hanamikoji are all much heavier hitters for my wife and I’s head to head 2 player games.
@BoardGameHangover2 жыл бұрын
Really got to try War Chest and Air, Land & Sea

@@BoardGameHangover My wife and I have been playing Air, Land & Sea (Critter's at War version) quite a bit lately and wow, it works every time! But she still prefers playing Unmatched, I think it's because she has a better win percentage in Unmatched.

Would you say 7 Wonders: Duel is better alternative in terms of strategy and replay value?

I agree with the criticisms, but still enjoy it haha. There is another criticism for me. Sometimes your game is clearly over after 2 rounds.

This may be my favorite review you guys have done. I love that you tugged at the positives and showed why people may like this game. But I really enjoyed and appreciated knowing that you wouldn't own it. I feel like so many reviews are all "but this today," types of reviews (in part, because games really are getting that good). Having some neutral or negative reviews really helps me trust the very positive reviews. Thank you for the straightforward review.

Totally agree. I have so many similar games already I don't need another one unless it really stands out.

this sounds like something I'd love to try like 2 or 3 times if someone happened to have it, but wouldn't buy. :D thanks for the honest review!

I was actually thinking that my own alternative is Star Realms or Hero Realms, it looks like you would play it in the same situations. Unmatched also fills those 1 vs 1 20 mins gaps for me I like this 1 vs 1 simple fast games. I will maybe consider this one for a bit mpre of variety!

🌟 Imagine combining this game with Inscryption ,that would might be good (story/secrets/little bit of horror or action "story"/cards can talk /BOSSES) 🌟

I was very tempted by this one's presentation but didn't end up getting it and on consideration I think I'd prefer to play Summoner Wars (second edition) that I have. Which I think you guys should try if you haven't. While you can get to know the decks like Redlands i feel there is a bit better chances at surprises or swings..
