This song always brings the tears. My late husband was in the Air Force 20 years as was his father. My Dad and brothers Army. So thankful they all made it home from WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Any one of them could have been on one of those flights. God bless the men who answer the call to make these flights.

I had to say goodbye to too many friends at the beginning of their Angel Flights. This song takes me right back to the bay of that C-130 loaded with a single flag draped coffin saying goodbye to a hero who was taken too soon. R.I.P Ty.

It is pretty amazing that I just started thinking about Radney Foster's music tonight (Just Call Me Lonesome and Old Silver). I was always surprised he didn't make it bigger. Kudos Greg for reading my mind! The good news is I think he is still performing. Peace, Love!!

I volunteered to serve as a funeral detail officer leading a detail of airmen to provide military honors to Air Force veterans throughout the state where I was stationed. As the officer-in-charge I was the one who presented the folded flag to the next of kin at the burial ceremony. I don't recall how many times I did this--what I do recall is how grateful the family was for the honors we presented--every time, and how magnificent our detail was in showing proper respect to our passed comrade--every time. One of the greatest honors of my life.

There’s a much better video about the Angel Flight. It shows more of the plane in the air and throwing out “chaf” which lights up and actually forms the shape of an angel lit up in the sky. Amazing. ♥️

Hi Greg, Dave Roever is also someone who rode along side our heros as they were being escorted home. He has a wonderful testimony of the faithfulnes of God to keep him in His arms. Yes, he is taking fallen soldiers ( that airmen, seamen, marines, and army soldiers) all military. That's his job, and yes, this man has done this. A lone plane taking the fallen home. As horrible as many think this nation is, WE do our best to bring our worriers home. Not a perfect world

When our soldiers fall, they are escorted they have escort while they’re on the Angell flight bringing them from wherever they fell back home and then they are cleaned up put in brand new uniforms to prepare, and then they are escorted by a soldier till they are laid to rest. I saw some people commenting about the Kevin Bacon movie. It is called taking chance and it talks about escort duty.

You may not know this ,but, an angel flight takes priority over any other aircraft. That includes Air Force One.

Hey Greg, there's a radio tower remix that shows the flares of the Angel Flight that it shoots off just before landing home with the fallen Heroes. The flares go off in the Shape of ANGEL WINGS. Also they can fly just for ONE fallen Hero or many , "" and Each Individual Hero is a accompanied by what the military calls a Handler. That way our fallen Hero is Never Ever Alone on his flight home. 🛐🇺🇲 No other plane can take off BEFORE the Angel Flight does and no other plane can try to land BEFORE the Angel Flight.❤️🇺🇲🙏😢.
