Gordon pass and you will catch something. Mangrove snapper should be hanging around almost any major structure or piling in Naples bay as well. Whiting should be hitting off the beach. Use live shrimp for all of the above. Free to fish off the pier (no license needed) but a lot of restrictions on what you can use etc.

@@RadReelingFishing Thank god. As a local who caught my first Pomp over there about 10 years ago I'm freaking out that every googan in the area is going to be over there. But then I thought better - you did a big solid not posting these vids right away (even if it WAS for selfish reasons :)~ We won't know the 'damage' until next years run. Which of course is different every year. You fish way more often than I do - plus I'm usually on the boat as opposed to the beach. Thanks for doing (almost) everything you can to keep the spots local. People don't understand how small our town is. You can bet your last dollar that EVERY fisherman in town recognizes where you are. We've always shared spots and info locally in person. I wonder how social media will affect that dynamic. JC is amazingly generous with every single aspect of the fishing he does. Take that wealth of shared knowledge and apply it ANYWHERE! It works~! Pt. If you are a local and know where these spots are please respect JC's and others' wishes and DON'T mention in the comments. Have you been to the Jetty on the weekends lately? Then you know what I'm sayin'.

Do you prefer the outgoing or incoming tide for pompano?
@RadReelingFishing2 жыл бұрын
I always prefer the tide they are biting on, ha ha...A couple of years ago I'd go to the jetty to jig for Pompano. I'd fish the entire incoming tide and catch nothing, then some local would come along and tell me that the bite was on fire during the outgoing tide the previous day. So, I'd come back the following day and fish the outgoing tide and get skunked. After not catching Pompano for a couple of days trying the different tides, I decided to fish the entire incoming and outgoing and the change periods between, and again nothing. This is what makes the Pompano chase so addicting, when they show up you catch them and you just never know when they are going to show up. I can say that the do tend to bite better right before and after the tide change when the water isn't moving super fast. In the area where I caught the Pompano in this video, I only caught them there for three days and then they were gone...I fished there three more days and never had a Pompano on. Thanks or asking.

I'll be on the west side one of these days..... Every time I fish the salt I never get much sleep,2-3hrs a night,rest of the time I have a rod in the water. I don't even care if I don't catch anything,never happened yet though,just like sitting there and sometimes sipping on cold ones. I watch just to watch you get fish.I also enjoy the scenery. 90% of those that watch to find places to fish are the ones too lazy to learn the fish habits and too scout prospective spots.It's the same way here in PA,I try to get away from the people and the heavy fished places and clear an area to fish.Once they see me there at least a few times,guess what happens....they're there all the time and I don't get to fish it again.They also just leave all their stinking garbage.The majority of people are to lazy to do their own time and research and just take your spots. You could take a few "ghost" rods (old junk ones,and the reels don't even have to be great working order) with you and set one up about 20-30-40-50yds to each side of you.Don't put any bait on,just a very heavy sinker and throw it out,you also could paint it with nail polish to look like a bait instead of a lead sinker..Now an then pull it in and pretend you adding bait.That will keep many people from fishing up on you....but not all of them,there will still be those a holes out there that will fish over you. That Runcl acting up already?
@RadReelingFishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I actually dunked the RUNCL in the water by accident for about three seconds 6 months ago. I never took the reel apart after that dunk to do any maintenance on it. After the trip in this video I took apart the carbon fiber drag washers and discovered they were corroded. I got things cleaned up and it's working fine now. I'm pretty impressed with the performance of those reels so far. I've used them a lot and they are holding up okay. Thanks for adding a comment of value.

I don't think that much subterfuge is necessary. If you fish in that town then you know the spot.

@@ziradee Doesn't matter where it's at in the world,there are always J/A's that want to come fish the same spot you are after you start catching fish. I'll sometimes sit just a old chair near a spot I'm fishing at a local bridge and people see it and keep on driving.
