Thanks for the review. I have been looking at getting one of these for bottom fishing, think I will after seeing your review. I have been using a Piscifun Torrent II on my 7' 3" inshore casting rod & I love it.

I picked up the 300 and 400 for kayak fishing. I took out the 300 for calico bass and it worked great.. I even landed a 25lb white seebass and a 16lb sheephead .. Was paired with a okuma shadow stalker inshore rod and it worked amazing. I actually liked it more than my lexa 300.

Try using the big power handle more. I'm a muskie fisherman and hate fishing reels without these. They were awkward at first, which is probably what you ran into, but after getting used to them you can reel in much faster and don't fatigue nearly as quick. Take it from a fish of 10,000 casts guy. Those power handles are an absolute must. Good video

I have two of the 300s as well and have been using them for California Yellowtail Jacks and the reels have been able to handle them without any issues. I just ordered two of their new 400 size reels in 6:1 and 8:1 speeds and will be seeing how they hold up to 80-120lb bluefin tuna!

@summertime243310 ай бұрын
@@suavelifestyle9094 Really depends on your target species and which reel size you're going to be using. One of my 300s is on a 7' 6" 12-25lb class Penn Squadron II baitcaster and the other is on an 8' 12-25lb class Shimano Teramar Inshore Series baitcaster. The 400s I have one an 8" 20-40lb class Okuma SCTI-C XH inshore baitcaster and the other is on a 9" Okuma PCH Custom 30-60lb class offshore series rod.

These reels are incredible I caught a 43” snook off the beach with my Alijos and the drag was smooth as anything I’ve fished. I’ve had mine for about 4 years now and I beat the snot out of it. I prefer the Alijos over my Tranx 300 and my Lexa HD 300. The magnetic cast control on these is awesome
@GameCastCubed Жыл бұрын
That's mad I was thinking of buying the tranx as an upgrade as the reel seat snapped on my alijos while trolling with the drag set too high
@summertime2433 Жыл бұрын
In what ways do you prefer them over the tranx and lexa? I have a Tranx 400, Lexa HD 400, and 2 Alijos 300. Sold the Lexa for the newer Lexa 400 TW, which is easily the best bait casting reel in its class. I just ordered 2 of the Alijos 400 in 6:1 and 8:1 speeds. So far the 300s have been good to go but they're definitely not as smooth as the Tranx or the Lexa 400 TW. But they do have powerful drag but I have yet to see how they will hold up considering I've only had them for 2 years. I'm just very excited about the 400s since I will be using them for bluefin tuna in the 80-120lb class.

Just orders the Alijoz 300 w/ double handle 8.1:1 ratio. Pairing with Fenwick HMX Salmon/Steelhead Casting Rod Medium Heavy / Moderate action 11'-3" for surf/shore line fishing, Will be a light weight setup for casting lures, hoping its a good match. One of the first things I will be doing is breaking the reel down and getting some corrosion-x grease and Reel-x oil flowing though the reel, and lets not forget about the Cals tan Drag Grease. I've broken down brand new Shimano reels and would find inadequate grease and oil or none at all. Shenanigan's I tell ya.

it's their spawning season. There are a few showing up on the southwest Florida beaches. I know in the area I am in we were devastated with red tide, I'm not seeing a bunch of Snook on the beach. I love there products. I have the Piscifun 7'6"ML Rod & a few Spinning Reels & 1 Baitcaster. The baitcaster is very comparable to my $100 LEW's Speed Spool. I'm actually having issues with my LEW's Baitcaster & it's almost a year old. It's caught a ton of nice Redfish but, I'm breaking it down & going to give it a good cleaning. Something I don't do with my Piscifun Reels, I just rinse them off & reuse. lol

I got this reel cause I seen you using it and I always wanted a good casting baitcaster. It was cheap too on sale was 79$. It’s not bad. It cast better then most cheaper baitcasts. I love conventional reels. Lever drag esp so not using a spinning reel is common for me. But casting with a baitcaster or a conventional is not something I do. When it comes to casting it’s spinning or nothing. But like I said I got this cause saw how well you were able to cast with it. Esp like half oz 3/4 oz lures. Yozuri plugs. And I have to say tho when I’m taking my time and not under pressure just casting around it’s great but when I see a pod of jacks coming working or trout bite is on fire and I get all excited like every fisherman does. I always have trouble with it. But I can always cast where I want to with my spinning gear. I have to say it has sat a bunch since I purchased it. Just got the boat down here to Clearwater so hopefully I will put it back into roatation more.
