I love your whole bike! Really cool mods. That little basket in the front looks very handy and the horn is fun! If you have links for the second battery (assuming it's third party) and the connector to run both batteries in parallel, that would be cool. Also, the tech setup on the bars: 👌👌

I've added the parts list to the video description. Thanks for commenting! I never actually ran the batteries in parallel, which would be cool. The Rad battery powers the original drive train, and the second battery powers the bafang. It means that I've been putting a lot more stress on the after market battery, but at some point I'll switch the power wires so they can swap roles. I just need to buy some more XT60 connection splices.

Hello, I'm pretty late but as an owner of a cargo bike with BBSHD I have a warm tipp for you. The chain skipping is probably caused by the weight of the bike and I'm pretty sure the cassette or the chain (or both) are worn out already. To reduce the stress on motor, chain and cassette you should rather use so called hill/mountain cassette with 14-32T or 13-30 teeth. You will loose some top speed but there will be much less stress on the internals of the motor. The nylon sprocket for instance suffers if you ask for so much torque and also the ball bearings (there are 4 or 5 of them) will wear out much faster. Even the battery has a hard time when the controller pulls up to 25A all the time and I could bet speed wise there is not much difference even with 4 extra teeth in the front; at least on the flat. Hill climbing capabillities are also reduced with a bigger chain ring. I would recommend to use the old 42T chain ring and a cassette with maximum 13 or 14T on the smallest sprocket. The bike will feel much snappier, you get much better acceleration, the motor would run with better efficiency, less stress on motor and battery and the only downside would be that the top speed is maybe reduced by 3-5ml's or so but most of the time you would reach the same speed as always.

Are you able to take out the second battery for charging or do you have to keep on the bike while charging?

Nice to see a mid drive installed. Did you keep the original wheel with hub motor on and just disconnect it to use as a regular wheel?

Hello fellow RW4 driver, I love your bike! Congrats. Our RW4 has mostly the accecories from Rad but I´m now considering to get hydraulic discbreaks. Are you alwo considering that? I would love to see a video on that. I would also love to see more shots from your middrive motor. How difficult was it to install? Cheers, Yannick from Germany

Yes, absolutely. It was no trouble at all to install. I'll see if I can get some more shots of it for you.
