I had the good fortune while serving in the Far East ( early 1960's ) to fly on Blackburn Beverley's quite a few times. I used to try to grab a seat looking at the wheels when the aircraft touched down.

@@trigger399 Yes it is the Javelins, I dont think that they had in flight refueling.

@@johnsmith-ht3sy Correct, there was no inflight refuelling after the grounding of the Valiants. Some publications state that they flew non-stop from Cyprus to Nairobi and upset Col Nasser by flying over Egypt, but at about 2,500 miles that was impossible. They "puddlejumped" to get to Nairobi via stops in Turkey, Iran and RAF Masirah (Oman). After a night stop they continued to Khormaksar (Aden) for another night stop and on to Zambia after a couple of nights in Kenya. These Javelins were FAW9Rs as they were the only ones able to carry four underwing tanks, most Javelins could only carry ventral tanks.
