@@MarkHarrison733That's because German industry was severely UNDER used before 1943. The bombing effort was massively helpful, as an American historian - cant recall his name - published about 20 years ago. The Germans were forced to divert huge resources into production of aircraft mostly used against the bombers and to divert anti-aircraft guns and other resources to the home front, thus shortening the war significantly. While it's true that the strategic bombing utopias of the "choke point" in the economy with a few easy strikes or the destruction of morale and societal organization after terror raids were indeed proven to be wrong, the economic impact was still enormous. This is simply a fact. Of course it could be argued that a lot of the air raids by 1945 were over the top, that was most certainly not the case even a few months earlier
