I was 12 years old and this show was absolutely incredible. Blew my mind. Little did we realise what a treat it was with all these amazing jets back then. Waddington/Scampton and these current Airshows are depressing compared to how it used to be. Such a shame. I'd love for my young lad to see a show like this. Thanks posting.

Used to come here as a 15 year old air cadet and go flying in the chipmunk, loved it ! Remember taking off and seeing a Phantom in the fire dump, I was mortified, how could the burn such an iconic aircraft. Loved these air shows, when proper aircraft was around.

Waste of time and money going to airshows now, OK if all you want to see are the Typhoon and Red Arrows. These were great days, miss all the different types of aircraft. I feel sorry for the upcoming aviation enthusiasts, they missed out on the golden years.

Kevin Houghton agreed! Seeing the Phantoms, Delta Darts, Voodoos, Starfighters, Thuds, Super Sabres, Concords and this beautiful Vulcan made one cry.

Kev Houghton I totally agree with you. This is when we had an airforce. I miss all the Cold War aircraft although the Lightning was my favourite. I was actually at this exact air show and it brought back some great memories. I with many others had a few tears when the Vulcan did her farewell fly past. Although we were lucky to see her back up in the skies some years later. I am so lucky to have seen all these aircraft fly.

I was there, never missed an air show at Finningley since I was a child with my dad up to it closing, we now fly on holiday from there.

A little hard to believe it’s been some 26 years since the last show of 1994. Living just a few miles from Finningley as a lad there were always some fantastic sights and sounds being an active Vulcan base but the air shows were something else and a truly window rattling experience with Phantom F4’s on full reheat and low level Concorde flypasts. Amazing but sadly never to be repeated.

Thanks for posting.Were we still a great country then? its not that long ago '92, our generation were lucky,the best airshows..what can you see now,some drones and a helicopter? amazing footage,Concorde looks like something out of thunderbirds,incredible,the Vulcan,phantoms!

The Vulcan's' performance is utterly insane for a long range strategic bomber. Can see how it would outmaneuver a MIg at high altitude when penetrating Soviet airspace. Utterly insane.

Happy memories of RAF at home days. I was stationed there up until 91 and was on VIP tent duty that year. Sadly, airshows pants now. Great video.👍

Used to go there in the early sixties, four ship Vulcan scramble to start the show, lots of display flying and static, one of the longest bars I've ever seen all for a fiver a car in 1963!

Can't stop watching your video's. Love them all. Hard to imagine it was only for 20 years ago that this variety of planes was flying. UK Phantom, Harrier, Concorde, Jag's, Buccaneers. Thanks for sharing

Wow. I was 6 back then and this was my first show. I went to finningley and C' Fenton until 94' then waddo and occasionslly riat since before stopping in 04. I started going again to waddington last year and to say i was disapointed is an understatement. Riat again this hope its an improvement. Thanks for the hairs on end nostalgia trip! Awesome vid and wonderful memories.

Thank you for posting this. I was there with my Air Force class in our second year of training. I think most of them were asleep under the wing of a KC-135 after a rough night, despite the sound. The Blue Angels sneak pass though certainly woke them up 🤣.

If only it was like this now really glad i was brought up in that era seen so many great things sadly my kids will never experience at least 2 of them have seen the Vulcan fly but its not the same as a proper display like Finningley was.

I can remember because of the low cloud base that day the Red Arrows cancelled and the Blue Angles showed them how to do a display, inc flying over the crowd. Great show. I can also remember the traffic getting in. My mate took 6hrs from Worksop to get in.

I was there and cant remember it being so dull. They used to put on a show for sure. Living in Doncaster took the show for granted as though it was a natural yearly occurrence and no reason to think it would end. It did and the air shows these days are only in name unfortunately. The Vulcan was then as it was post restoration a real crowd puller.
