You can't mistake the sound of a spitfire such a proud sound....how great it must be to fly one....and the red arrows, superb flying so proud to be British bought tears to my eyes to see Spitfire and R.A flying together...

I don't care what anyone says, the Spitfire is the single greatest aeroplane ever built. The sound of that engine, the shape just stands out instantly as a Spitfire. As a Brit the pride that bursts out as soon as you hear or see one is difficult to describe.

A Lancaster bomber a spitfire and a hurricane, the sound all 3 make together is incredible. Not sure if its the same with Americans but that Merlin Rolls Royce engine brings a lump to my throat. Whoa - what a show! NEVER seen the Red Arrows on the ground before. They normally blister in, do their stuff, and then skeddad. To see them align on the runway and then take off was a treat. That Spitfire show too was unbelievable. They don't throw old Spits around like that in the UK. They treat those old ladies much more sedately.

@@warhawkcreativevideo The Red Arrows are pretty much a national institution here in the UK, they fly to their display in formation and if they Land anywhere there's always a crowd to watch. The only other planes that had that effect were the Vulcan and Concorde which used to bring traffic to a standstill if they were about. I was at the Monsters of Rock at Donnington park in the early 90's watching Aerosmith or Whitesnake or whatever group it was, Concorde took off from the East Midlands Airport and drowned out the music, 50,000 rock fans turned away to watch it, hilarious. 🤣 I think you lot over the pond are trying to get an English Electric Lightning flying, we aren't allowed over here, if you do please try your best to film it, it's awesome!

Watching this makes me miss airshows. The spit 9 was generally considered to be the best of the Spitfire line. To be a member of any aerobatic team, whether it be the Arrows, Thunderbirds, Blue Angels etc. you have to be the best of the best. For those of you who don't know, the Hawk is the RAFs advanced trainer, which can reach about 700mph in level flight. The Blue Angels use the F18 Hornet, which is about twice as fast, and the Thunderbirds use the F16 (roughly the same). So the US teams use faster aircraft, but the british use more ;-).

And the R.C.A.F. Snowbirds still use the Tudor basic jet trainer, (side by side two seater).

Medium speed trainers are probably better aircraft to use simply because the public get to see more of them and, of course, they are more manoeuvrable. I would have loved to have watched the thunderbirds when they flew the f4 though!
