It is illegal to enter private property without permission.
Photographs taken in 1995 when the station was under "care & maintenance". The drawing details are taken from a 1945 Air ministry site plan and a 1972 Defence Land Agency plan.
I know the later control tower is now a dwelling. Very nice it looks too! Please respect their privacy!
Unsure of the status of the other buildings as I have not been back since these were taken. I believe light industry has moved into some and others me be earmarked for preservation. It would be a shame to see them go the way many others have. Shame about the airfield, still, that's progress I suppose.
I will be putting many other "revisited" slideshows on here in the coming months. So keep your eye on this channel, it may be your station next.
Please ask if you want to use any of the shots.

If you are hungry for more info on WW2 airfield architecture please buy my books on the subject. Just search on ebay for "British Airfield Buildings" or email me. Only I sell new copies. Vol 1 and 2.

We live in 7 Atcherley Square currently (the furthest house in the shot of the 2 OM houses with the yellow doors etc. Certainly didn’t want these places to rock on their foundations, solidly built and a testament to late 30s engineering. Have always had a passion for old airbases and am heartbroken at the why these places can’t be preserved. Excellent video though.

Glad you like the shots. Nice to see that the qrts have been sold. Great properties. I lived in a similar one when I was in the RAF in the 80's.. It was a lovely house and so much bigger than the local civilian properties.

I used to live in 46 AMQs. It was definitely the smallest MQ I lived in during my childhood.😀

@@jongiant I was at RAF Boulmer in the 70's and all qrts seemed large. Could have been the alcohol!

Same with old battlefield sites in this country. We just don't bother.

Went there with Air Training Corp in 79 ! Its was a bloodhound base then & prop training! Great fun! Especially when one of our group found a unloaded Browning hi power automatic pistol on the grass verge next to the disused runway! As a treat we were given flights in an chipmunk trainer two seater!

At 7:15 the green building on the left was the missile stores at one end and Missile refurbs at the other. I ran refurbs, for several years, rebuilding Swedish Missiles back to RAF Standard. The Brick building was the Bloodhound 85 squadron headquarters. The larger green buildings behind were the MOTES, Missile overall test equipment servicing sheds known as motes 3&4 closest to the Camera and Motes 1&2 at the other end At 7:24 the building on the right was known as launchers. her the bloodhound missile launchers were serviced. As the video ends you are looking up the missile site where the missiles were set ready to launch.

Great info - thanks. When I visited the airfield, the Defence Land Agency supplied me with a full site plan for the main camp. Of course the Bloodhound site had not yet been deregulated and so had to peer through the fence!!

@@GrahamInnes1 I went back a few years ago and went over to the missile site, to the right of the gates was the police hut, but the gates were open Looked in the police hut, which still had the same carpet on the floor from the 80's. Went over to my refurbs bay the door was open, and now had sheep inside, my office door had been removed and turned sideways to keep another sheep on its own. Walking across to the MOTES I found it was full to the roof with straw bails so could not get to far inside. The farmer who met me just said hello and left me looking around, every building was unlocked. it felt strange I spent five years at West Raynham

@@davegoldsmith4020 Amazing, I would have loved a look round the site. The defence land agency at that time, would only give me permission to go round the main station site. It was after all still a military establishment, albeit under "care & maintenance".

Interesting video but upbeat music for something that is really very sad to see. Not so good.

Things at West Raynham are quite upbeat. Many of the buildings are being used and continue on. Thanks for your comment! I always read and respond.
