Just started watching the KC40 videos. The sound effects and music really mess it all up. Completely detracts from the actual fight and at some points makes it feel like I'm not watching an actual fight. The camera gave that impression too, choosing closeup shots over ones where you could fully see their bodies and the engagement. A little sad. Hopefully something changes.

karate combat rules need to be fixed. in a real fight every single one of aghayev take downs could ends with a KO. atleast it should be allowed to having 20s of ground and pound each time. OSS!

I think the no hooks rule is even worst in this fight, but I think they might have already changed that. The one that needs to change now is the no kicks to the upper leg. Many karate styles like Uechi Ryu, Goju Ryu and Kyokushin use kicks to the leg like that.

Don't be silly, there is no one origin. People fight, they always have. Where people fight lots, styles develop. Also, if we're going with the single origin theory one could say the african tribal fighting styles came before, and they influence the martial arts of the babylonians and scythians before it ever came to greece. Claiming your history lol. Please. I suggest the writings on the introduction to Mastering Jiu Jitsu, where John Danaher goes into depth talking about the origin of MA, looking over pankration, indian martial arts, kung fu and the development of japaneese martial arts, he discusses the three MA origin hypothesis and utterly debunks the one origin hypothesis.
