Everyone agrees Fiziev won round 1, everyone agrees Gaethje won round 3. So it comes down to round 2. This round appeared exceedingly close, with both men landing huge shots. When I first watched the fight, I thought Fiziev won. After rewatching the fight numerous times, I still give it to Fiziev. He had huge impactful shots and had much more octagon control + aggression. Gaethje also had some good shots. I scored the damage of their strikes in that round similar to how youtuber TheWeasle does it, and I gave Fiziev 21 light strikes, 6 medium strikes, and 2 heavy strikes, whereas for Gaethje, I gave him 22 light strikes, 9 medium strikes, and 0 heavy strikes.The significant stats show that Fiziev landed more sig strikes as well, not that that really matters much. I think it is fair to say Fiziev won that fight, but it was definitely close. He landed the more impactful shots.
