You know, another thing I notice about Rafael, that I didn't realize from only listening to recordings is that he really moves his trumpet around while playing. That really makes it HARDER to play when he's doing that. To maintain lips, buzzing and airflow, fingers etc. Usually at the end he's got his trumpet way in the air, it is really awkward to play well like that. Again hats off to Mr. Mendez. I guess the trumpet flowed through him like the force!
