I love how MDB talks about how they erected a statue of a catfish in his hometown after he left, like he's the one thing that was stopping that from happening. The second he left, they all said "Finally! We can put the catfish statue up!"

That's so bizarre to me, here in the US South catfish is a staple food. More importantly, it was still something we ate when I was little and lived about an hour from near the Canadian border (like 20 minutes without traffic). Surprised it didn't jump over, fried catfish is delicious!

Random thing for me to comment on. The brand = product thing, is a thing for 'older' Australians too, some examples for us a 'Breville' is a toasted sandwich maker, a 'Gerni' is a power washer (pressure washer) didn't check how that one was spelt, I'm sure there's a heap more but I'm on the edge of 'older' Australians so, fewer come to mind

Hearing you talk about it at the end, I was surprised by just how knowledgeable you seemed about Dnd. I assume the time commitment would be the bar to entry, but have you and some of the channel regulars ever considered doing some Dnd or other Board Games on something like Tabletop Simulator? Maybe it's a a southern U.S. thing but cat fish is pretty popular it's even at generic buffets and other restaurants. I think I've seen it up by the falls in New York aswell.

I'm from the Midwest and not a fan of fish in the slightest. My now ex fiance loved sea food, but catfish grossed her out. My mum who also loves eating fish, hates catfish. Along with most of my kin, my grandmum, my grand aunts and uncles.. Great grandparents. I'm actually trying to fully stop consuming meat, so I have no urge to even try fish.

I don't know why it took me so long to just look in the Playlist tab for the secret. Glad I found it though! Side note, a long time ago you streamed a survival horror game that was point-and-click gameplay and I think maybe procedurally generated. I don't remember the specifics of the game, but I think you had to uncover clues to learn the identity of a demon so you could defeat it. This was probably 5-7 years ago, but my sense of time isn't great. Do you have any idea what game I might be talking about?

Rewatching this, and was aonder what you thoughts on the Dragon Quest/Dragon Warrior series. My first was 9 but ive been playing through the DS remakes of older games and have been enjoying them

I grew up with Dragon Warrior! It's just Dragon Quest 1 in English. My game cartage is literally older than me. I played a bit of each of the NES ones in high school and thought they were all pretty good. I also played a bit of the really big PS2 one, and just a bit of the newest one. All good games, I just haven't had time to go deep in on them.

As an American who lives on the border of Canada in Buffalo, and spent a lot of time in Canada. I can attest for a lot of Canadians are assholes the nice stereotype is just a trick to lore you in be wary, my friends.

The friendly Canadian vs Unfriendly Canadian divide is probably the exact same as the American one. The lower population place you're in, the more friendly people you'll meet. The higher population area they're from, the more likely they're going to be a dick to strangers. I think part of the reason why people think I'm friendly is just that I grew up in the middle of nowhere. I still like saying "Morning" to people I pass on the sidewalk, and that doesn't really seem to be in fashion here.
