Rafting The Russell Fork through Breaks Canyon - Fantastic historical piece about kayaking & rafting

This professionally made video from 1992 tells some fascinating history about the Russell Fork as well as showing some early paddling there. Despite the title, the boats are mostly kayaks. There's even one intrepid canoeist. This is worth watching for the background history on running logs downriver by itself. But there's a lot more.
That might be Steve Frazier in the Sunburst open canoe.
And there's a relatively young Dennis Huntley and Joe Greiner here also!

There are a number of C1 - whitewater canoes - doing impressive work. The open canoe does make you sit up and take notice though.

Frazier just (minutes ago) told me it is himself. I don't know when Dagger made the Prophet, but Fantetti always paddled a Prophet AFAIK. Thanks for the comment, though.

@@whitewater-video do you know who shot the video of Frazier. Nvr paddled with Steve, looks so much like Paul. Pretty sure Paul was with us the days the vid was shot, by Dennis. But the vid is blurry enough to not be sure

Pretty sure it's Dennis' footage. I'll be publishing some of his when I get the damned VHS-C adapter to work right. The different tape formats were bad, but now we have different file and compression formats to screw us up! I suspect this was prior to the introduction of the Prophet. Whenever I saw Fantetti in the 90's, he was always in a Prophet. Word was that he bought all the used ones up. The paddle looks like either a 2x4 with a piece of plywood attached or a Norse, which was what Frazier always used. Gear looks like Frazier, although the gunwales don't look crumpled enough.
