Details of the paper stitching part, you can watch it at the end of the video: • HAND BOOK (Detailed in...
---------
Materials: scrap papers, rough cloth
Tools: Needle, thread, scissors, pencil, sample A4 paper (Fold 2 times to have an A6)
Book size: A7 (Made from A6 size papers)
-------------------------------
This time I decided to clean up the scrap papers I had gathered. It's the paper that people put in online shopping boxes. It is softer and thicker than the normal Kraft paper.
I've tried a way to make a cover without using glue and with a grid fabric like this, you can cut in lines, without using a ruler (This fabric is a leftover fabric)
This notebook can also be replaced the inner papers, so you can use the cover over and over again.
A small gift
Thank you for waiting

May I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm a crafter for myself - I don't sell anything - and of the thousands of video I've watched, this is by far the cutest, most serene, most original and simplest I've ever seen. I will subscribe to your channel right away and now I know what my wrinkled paper was waiting for. I've got two bagfuls of an identical kind from the grocery's. Thank you again, darling.

Beautiful, Din! I love this tiny book so much! This might go on my list of gifts to make as well. I still have not sewed those curtains I mentioned. (I feel bad about that... cannot figure out why I keep procrastinating on them.) But I did sew a shopping bag. It is very large and has both a shoulder strap as well as two hand-handles. I walk to the store once or twice a week, and this bag is meant to carry large but light things I may buy, such as pizza, chips, cereal, toilet paper, or a pillow. When I shop I use one or two canes to walk, and most of what I carry goes in a backpack, but my new tote will expand what I am able to carry home. Curtains are officially bumped to this week's to-do list. I hope I can do them, I would hate to report to you again that I had not succeeded. Other week's gifts on my list I want to remember to do include: weave a small basket from invasive weed plants that grow commonly around here, take and root cuttings from a local fig tree I discovered, and make three different kinds of jam - apple, strawberry, and orange. Blessings on you, dear Din! I look forward every week to seeing what you make, and sharing what I have accomplished as well.

Wow, a shopping bag? Nice! Also, I don't think you should beat yourself up for not wanting to tackle the curtain project, maybe it just seems too scary? I hope you will do them though; I am rooting for you! Best of luck with the next projects. Seems like I may actually join too 😊 , but with a lot smaller projects, because of my lack of time. But I also want to feel like I create something weekly, even if sometimes it will be just a small drawing (that may not be considered a crafting project, but that’s a creation too)

@@DinLife Honestly my main hurdle is that I have little room to work in. I would prefer to lay out my fabric full length to mark it and cut it, but all I really have is a very small desk. Still, I know I can make it work if I put my mind to it. After that, my son needs me to hem/mend some more jeans of his! LOL it isn't difficult to do a little chore like that. I love giving new life to something old so it can be loved for longer.

I love this! I’ve been making journals out of paper bag material for a few weeks now. I will definitely have to try out this stitching technique for the pages next time! My latest journal was made out of a cardboard brownie-mix box, and the pages were sewn into the spine. I then sewed an embroidered and appliqued fabric to the cover/brownie box for the decorative element. I’m very happy with it!

It sounds like a beautiful journal! My problem is that I always think journals are too beautiful to write in/use. I tried to keep a "junk journal" once to help break myself of that habit. It was literally made of stuff out of the trash like old envelopes or random scrap paper or packaging. But then I decided after it was done that it had its own unique charm and once again thought it was just too beautiful to "ruin" by me writing in it or whatever. The only type of notebook I ever reliably use are ones that are cheap and mass produced, that I do not care about. I have a hard time thinking the type of scribbles I would write is good enough to go into a gorgeous hand made book. I hope you will not be like me, and you will never be afraid to make and use beautiful things every day.
@mar1na1993

@@Marialla. I have the same hang up! I have never been great at journaling and keeping it up enough to fill a whole journal. This one is 140 pages! I do feel that some days I write complete and utter nonsense... but I shall push past it! One way I was able to do this in the past was make a very small, super duper junk journal that was just big enough for me to work through a specific topic. I was able to fill the whole thing, and felt like it was productive.
@Marialla.
@Marialla. 3 жыл бұрын
@@mar1na1993 Yes I agree it does help when there is a specific topic for one journal, and when the journal isn't too large. I once worked through a "Wreck This Journal" project, and though I didn't do all the suggestions it did open my eyes to how I really did not need to treat a journal as delicate and precious, but could instead abuse the heck out of it and trust myself to find ways to put it back together better than it had been before!
@mellyq92
@mellyq92 3 жыл бұрын
@@Marialla. one solution to this is to make a book with easily removable/replaceable pages. If the pages are sewn in I feel like what I write in the book is permanent but if I can easily take the page out I feel like if I "ruin" the page it's only one page that can be replaced. An easy way to make a book like this is to get book rings "the kind that open and close" and punch holes in whatever paper you have. Once you have a bunch of hole punched paper open the rings and put them through the holes then close them.
