I wonder how panditji and ustad ji (AAK) could elevate our music to masses in America and rest of the western world. Them performing at the hollywood Bowl is an evidence of mass acceptance during those years. Now both of them long gone...our music has largely disappeared from the main stream western world. Most of our concerts are now attended by small group of largely indian diaspora.
