​@@ringoffireragdolls I have a very serious question for you... for the dams to get pregnant, you need intact males. How do you have intact males without them spraying all over and making your house stink like cat urine?

Great question! I’m very blessed to have 2 boys who do not spray at all, very clean, I just be sure to change their litter more often as male cat urine does have a very potent odour even if not spray. One boy I have is extremely pungent, I have a large enclosure next to my home for him with his own garden, he’s happy as long as he has ladies for company. I will agree with you though! I have no idea how breeders in high rise apartments or small properties manage pungent stud males.

@ringoffireragdolls I have had Ragdoll cats since 1971. I currently have two Ragdoll cats. I thought about keeping them intact, but I'm very sensitive to smells and absolutely cannot deal with the smell of cat urine. So they are both fixed. I've thought of breeding Ragdolls because of my love for the breed, but I have never known how to completely avoid spraying by cats... especially the males. I'm in California btw.

Is there anyway to contact you? My Ragdoll had a single kitten yesterday and I'm a bit worried about it but can't get an appointment with my vet until Thursday so was hoping someone could give me a bit of advice ❤

Hi there, The first 3 days are so important for kittens, has your kitten latched on to mother cat to nurse? Is she caring for it? I would call your vet back and explain the situation, they should be able to fit you in for an emergency, if not, worth ringing around to find another vet clinic that will.
