I knew it would be enough the temperature concerns were overblown I've ran the 12900K on a tower air cooler no problem especially for gaming and light production with the 240 aio you could get away with a modest 5.1-5.2Ghz all P core OC and a 4Ghz all E core. The 4070 super chews through 1440p high refresh and that's where it shines an excellent card for 1440p and ultrawide QHD gamers excellent video lab!

@wasd-moves-me You were spot on for sure Fam! The cl240l could def handle a modest OC .. I'm with you 100% thousand, I believe this chip could do 5100-5200 all Core and 4000 on Es. We're gearing up for stage 2 of testing with this setup brother. It's going to get interesting! Appreciate you !

Do the I9 12900kf specifically the kf but only if u want to over clock honestly it’s cheaper to and runs the same just allows for over clocking the Gpu and ram even ddr5 ram

I have the 4070 super paired with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and it performs like a beast at 1440p easily getting over 200 fps at max settings In a lot of the newer titles :)
@SuperMetaTech6 ай бұрын
@StarWarsNerd that's a beautiful combo! The 78000X3D is a brilliant gaming-specitic chip, but you're so GPU bound at that res that the CPU will only contribute to high fps but, so much: (Jedi: Survivor for example).

How well does the 750w psu keep up with the cpu gpu combo?
@SuperMetaTech29 күн бұрын
@@erikp87 That PSU was well under estimated and hit somewhere between 250-350 total.watts during most of the benchmarks. 550w would be pushing it, 650w would hold.up for most setups.

So Is a i9 12900k not good for 4k gaming I did get 120fps in 4k but with a 60hz monitor it was unsteady I'm thinking of switching to a Ryzen cpu for better upgrade path
@SuperMetaTechАй бұрын
@@bigtimebucksfan_6887 12900K is good for gaming at 4K; you're more GPU dependant at that resolution. I'd consider upgrading your monitor? Not sure what card you're running but 2550x1440 165Hz would be an ideal upgrade. You likely were experiencing screen tearing and ghosting.

Hello, I am quite worried, I have an i9 12900kf and a 4070 super. My problem is that I am running it on a 180p and 120 Hz monitor and I think I am causing a bottleneck. If I update to uhd "2k" 1440p would it be solved? I have 32 GB of Ddr4 ram with liquid cooling

the core i7 14700kf has the same price as your core i9 and it is much faster or for the same power as your core i9 you can have the core I5 13600kf if you use professional software your core i9 is interesting but for gaming the core i7 14700k or the best for gaming the ryzen 7700x3D all have the same price
@SuperMetaTech6 ай бұрын
@TechGameDev This Core i912900K was part of a bundle deal ($399 USD) which included: 12900K, 32GB DDR5 and z790 motherboard; so your value in price is misaligned. It is not much faster it is between 4-6% depending on the game.. hence why you claim they have the same power draw, which fluctuates, depending on the task. If you're *only gaming, not overclocking, or doing productivity tasks you don't need to spend extra for a "K" sku or high end enthusiast chipset.

Wow another brain dead parts combo that us absolutely stupid unless you exclusively play csgo valorant and league, so this is where everyone is getting these dumb build ideas from 🤦♂️
@SuperMetaTech6 ай бұрын
Right on. Or maybe from misinformed comments under dumb build videos like this one. You're logic is backwards, if you only play CSGO and other easily ran games, then you wouldn't be anywhere near this price category. We also didn't test those games for that reason.
@nerd20fromdiscord6 ай бұрын
@@SuperMetaTech then why did you use a 12900k……… A cpu like that is not a very good pairing for a 4070 all those extra threads are just going to waste anyway as well, and thats entirely besides the fact that its also on a dead platform, a 7600/x costs less and would literally perform better in like 95% of games, and also have an upgrade path and not consume an insane amount of power/ output an insane amount of heat

@@nerd20fromdiscord The purpose of this video was to highlight the value from the $399 bundle we picked up earlier in this saga. The RTX 4070, at 1440p/2160p is mostly GPU bound, make the CPU a factor, but the least significant in achieving high frame rates. If one was only gaming then, other options would make the most sense? Nothing against AMD. There's more value on AM4 still with the 5800X3D; in terms of price-to-performance. Especially at 1080p. Which, E-Cores and threads were not going to waste. Utilization was fairly balanced (30-45% in most of the games tested), as pointed out in the video. Again you are mostly GPU bound at these resolutions. Your point is moot, if not targeting either one.
