The only time I've heard that is the introduction to the Street Sweeper Social Club live recording of "Promenade," though I've only seen Morello live in Chicago in the early 90s and at the 2011 protests in Madison, where it may have been too early and not relevant, respectively.

You have got to keep exploring these fools! They dropped their 1st album in 1992 and tore it wide open for kids that never heard the other side of the story. Legendary band. Tom Morello (the guitarist) grew up on metal and hip hop and said he’s always wanted to replicate what djs were doing on turn tables with his guitar. He’s crazy talented. Check out the live version of “How I Could Just Kill a Man” by Cypress Hill off the Renegades album. That shit is dope! Nice react my man!

They found Zach de la Rocha (lead singer) at an underground rap battle and convinced him to be lead singer of the band; he wasn't the original choice but history has shown he was the perfect choice. His dad was a Mexican revolutionary/freedom fighter, and Zach alongside the rest of the band has kept the fight alive for ordinary people for 30+ years. Just got my tix to a show nearby in June; here's hoping Covid doesn't interrupt it.

There were a few bands and songs that were "rap rock" before Rage such as Faith No More doing some proto songs and crossovers like the Run DMC Aerosmith song and Bring tha noize by Public Enemy and Anthrax but generally Rage are the first major band to bridge the two and by far the best because I'd say it sounds even better today after the era of heavy 808 songs.

I'm assuming that you must be a good bit younger than me to not have known about RATM and the hip-hop aspect of their music. But back when I was in high school, they did a tour with Wu-Tang and they were pretty amazing shows. And also if possible could you do some older hiphop as well? Raekwon from Wu-Tang had a pretty amazing album called Immobilarity, it's one of those albums where you get in the car and can just listen to the whole thing start to finish, same with an album by AZ called Pieces of a Man. cheers, keep up the great content.
