WILDLY CRAZY CHILE: I was present when "Deep Purple" (1997) came to Chile for the first time and it was equally crazy. Even the 4-story tower that is located on the court collapsed (which I think belongs to the sound engineers and/or lighting technicians). I was on the side of that tower and when the tower began to collapse (a crowd had climbed on it (everyone was high on marijuana)) I fell to the ground and many people fell on my sides and some people even fell on me. But since CHILEANS ARE CRAZY, after ambulances and firefighters arrived to help those who were seriously injured and took them out of the stadium, we waited about 1 1/2 hours until the concert resumed and we continued rocking. We Chileans are crazy about three occasions of riots: 1. rock concert, 2. football (soccer) fans, and 3. popular marches and protests against abuses. That Stadium is not so big. The crowd was around 30K people. And according to Tom, this was his favourite show in many many years. The Battle of Santiago was very overwhelming, because people was upset with the distribution of the VIP area and the GA field. That was the origin of the riots. Great for the band’s spirit

One of my dream came true in 2022 when they came in Quebec. I never think i would see them ever!! Zak did the whole show sit on a speaker. Because injury. And today its official . They never make a show again . 😢 You got to watch fistfull of steel .pinkpop 1993 . Such a fun song to watch. Your the best David 😊

I was at a Rage show back in the day. Battle of New York... pretty standard crowd behavior. I remember having 300 level seats... but every one in the building rushed to the floor. Security lined the wall as people jumped over the wall to the floor. They were catching bodies and throwing them back over. My friends and I made it through the security wall. Wild and crazy night!

Chile has a different population (19M) density compare to Argentina (50M), besides the fact that AC/DC is a worldwide band and RATM it´is famous but not that much! Anyhow, Latin America specially Argentina has one of the best crowds energy, but that was before when there were no smartphones, because the last tour of GAR was garbage comparing previous years and it was the same RIVER PLATE STADIUM. Let´s toast for good old days!

RATM has always been a band with a very marked political sense and very knowledgeable about the political situation, especially in Chile in the years of the Military Dictatorship. That is why I believe that there is a more than strong bond between the band and Chile. Tom Morello has said on several occasions that one of his favorite shows in life was this, "The Battle of Santiago" as they called it. It was held on October 11, 2010 at the Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida (Santiago de Chile). As the closing number of the Maquinaria Festival.
