9 years late, but whatever. Enough Is Enough is actually one of their most known songs, but you're absolutely right on the unknown songs being fantastic. Now after 9 years there should be a plenty of videos of them playing it, most notably the one from '93 combined with Invisible Horizons.

@VoltigeurGT4 жыл бұрын
Oh god I'm so sorry nobody replied in the past 11 years. This is a seriously difficult question to answer as their albums are completely different. I guess a good pick would be End Of All Days or Black In Mind (heavy metal, 2 guitarists), Trapped! or The Missing Link (classic Rage metal, legendary), but also Unity or Soundchaser (melodic, more technical). The early work takes some time to get used to, but Perfect Man or Reflections Of A Shadow contain some good shit as well!

One wish for Rage and dont understand this wrong. i like rage very much but if they would have a other basist and keyboarder additionally then all it would looks much more professional and at concerts the music would be the music not so different from the cd version. Despite everything Rage kicks ass and Victor is one of my favorrit guitarist.

@Tributorious13 жыл бұрын
I like how they are really skilled but still don't overdo the "progressiveness". It's still one song. Some Dream Theatre songs for example are like patchwork quilts of various song-parts and I can enjoy watching them shred away, but I honestly don't like listening to it. Rage make circle-compositions, it's one song from the beginning to the end.

lol what the hell r you talking about? dream theater is technical much more ambitiously than rage. well smolsky is a great guitarist but compared to petrucci.. and then theyve got also jordan rudess one of the most inspiring and actually best keyboardplayers of all time. and of course, john myung is much better than peavy. actually rage and dream theater play in different worlds. i dont wanna butcher rage i really like them, their playing and their music. but dream theater is just better :D
@VoltigeurGT4 жыл бұрын
Eeh, looks like you've never seen Victor's true potential. He's easily as good as Petrucci, but it's difficult to compare at that level. Check out Victor's "live performance" from his DVD on KZbin, or the amazing material with LMO from 2013. As for technicality, Rage is among the very top (or had been during the time Victor was with them) among metal bands in history. Peavy is in no way a bad bass player, his voice is unique but most of all - he created all of the fantastic songs ever released by Rage. He's a mastermind when it comes to making a hit, may it be speed metal, heavy metal or a metal ballad. In the end, Dream Theater is NOT better, but that doesn't mean Rage is better. They play different stuff so you can't compare them, but they're both certainly legendary at what they do.

Beaumont The Frenchie Bro, I made that comment 11 years ago. I was 16 at that time and a huge petrucci fanboy. My understanding and perception of music has drastically changed. Reading this now, I'd immediately like to withdraw that statement, because there is no reason to compare anything anyway.. cheers
@VoltigeurGT4 жыл бұрын
@@DTthedanceofeternity Yeah I figured, but I replied anyway. Getting a response after so many years is surprising, but that's why I replied in the first place - to see how much your opinion has changed since then ;D Thanks for being around for so long and no matter what music you listen to nowadays, enjoy it to the fullest. Cheers to you too mate 🤘
@DTthedanceofeternity4 жыл бұрын
Beaumont The Frenchie it's actually enjoyable and sometimes even real cringy to read old statements like that. On the other hand there maybe is no easier way to realize how much one has progressed. I still listen to Prog Metal now and then, I even released a prog metal album this year. But after I finished this comment, I'll probably continue producing some neo soul and trap beats. And later I'll sit on my terrace and listen to some John Mayer or Ari Lennox. That's how much I've changed I guess ;)
@VoltigeurGT4 жыл бұрын
@@DTthedanceofeternity I see... Well, what else can I say other than to wish you good luck with producing your own music! I doubt I could ever make it that far, I'm currently just an amateur guitarist. As for my own music preferences, I've stayed the same; metal's been my no.1 choice since I was 5 :D (and I hope I never change, metal is the very thing that keeps me going ;D)
@DTthedanceofeternity16 жыл бұрын
petrucci is better than smolsky.. not only in relation to playin but especially in relation to composing and writing.. i didnt say their music is better, i just say their music is more ambitious.. if they are better musicians then they are better thats completely logic :D and you can say that generally not only in opinion.. and this is not coming from a noob, i'm a composer, songwriter, guitarteacher, guitarist in many bands, singer, keyboarder and bassist
@ShitStrolled14 жыл бұрын
Thought this was Rage agasint the machine covering Operation Ivy's song Unity . But it's just pussy metal
@BoM4516 жыл бұрын
bah, petrucci is overrated.... great player, but i dont think smolski is as far behind him as you think. listen to victors solo stuff, the man is incredible. and dream theater being better is YOUR opinion.... sure they are better 'musicians'..... but better?!.... thats just opinion mate..... btw, you forgot to compare terrana and portnoy..... and with a quarter the sized kit, terrana is a better drummer than portnoy IMO, and this is not coming from a no nothing noob, i am a session drummer.
