Absolutely, I wish more men had Zacs convictions.. These men stand for what is right and tkns direct opposition to those which condemn the violent attacks opposing humanity. These men are the real deal. All of them. These are the men others need to aspire to be. The line within the song FREEDOM freedom, ANGER IS A GIFT... It's been so helpful for me surviving sexual assault n domestic violence. I am forever grateful to zac, Tim and Brad , always. I'm so glad they're back. We need them now more than ever🙏🙏

Get a copy of the movie, Grapes of Wrath and when they are old enough let them watch Jimmy Stewart portray Tom Joad a poor and displaced young man from Oklahoma who had lost almost everything he knew in life except his family. The book by John Steinbeck is a very intense read that leaves you wondering just how many families were cast to the winds during the dust bowl times. Rage does it much better than springsteins version. He might have wrote the song, but Zack owned that song and made it his.

In case anyone is wondering Tom Joad is the main protagonist in John Steinbeck's "Grapes of Wrath.". It's a story about the Joads and the hardships they face following the dust bowl which destroyed their ability to maintain their farm and force them west to California for better prospects. Tom, just out of prison for murder, comes home to learn of his family's plan to leave town and decides to join them even though it's a violation of terms of his parole. It's one of the original "working class hero" books and it won a Pulitzer and later the Nobel for writing. I won't tell you anymore. Read it if you're interested 🙂

Man walks along the railroad track He's Goin' some place, there's no turnin' back The Highway Patrol chopper comin' up over the ridge Man sleeps by a campfire under the bridge The shelter line stretchin' around the corner Welcome to the new world order Families sleepin' in their cars out in the Southwest No job, no home, no peace, no rest, no rest! And The highway is alive tonight Nobody's foolin' nobody is to where it goes I'm sitting down here in the campfire light Searchin' for the ghost of Tom Joad He pulls his prayer book out of a sleepin' bag The preacher lights up a butt and takes a drag He's waitin' for the time when the last shall be first and the first shall be last In a cardboard box 'neath the underpass With a one way ticket to the promised land With a hole in your belly and a gun in your hand Lookin' for a pillow of solid rock Bathin' in the cities' aqueducts And The highway is alive tonight Nobody's foolin' nobody is to where it goes I'm sittin' down here in the campfire light With the ghost of old Tom Joad Now Tom said; "Ma, whenever ya see a cop beatin' a guy Wherever a hungry new born baby cries Wherever there's a fight against the blood and hatred in the air Look for me ma' I'll be there Wherever somebodies strugglin' for a place to stand For a decent job or a helpin' hand Wherever somebody is strugglin' to be free Look in their eyes ma, You'll see me! And the highway is alive tonight Nobody's foolin' nobody is to where it goes I'm sittin' down here in the campfire light With the Ghost of Tom Joad

What the hell, this sounded different last week, did they change the audio on the video to be the same as the album? Cause IMO this version was better than the album one, tad bit faster tempo and more funky.

@KasCalwein7 жыл бұрын
Now Trump's elected and what do we have? Prophets of Rage which is a shitty RATM cover band fronted by two even shittier rappers. And Zack De La Rocha who will finally release his solo album. Like for real. Like we've only waited for that for 17 years. But this year. Really. For sure.

Chuck D from Public Enemy and B Real from Cypress Hill are shitty rappers? Whatever dude.....
@ЧёрныйСнег-х3ш7 жыл бұрын
I don't think anyone could replace RATM. This is one of those, like it or hate it, the one & only - an original. I also find sadly even the very best bands aren't as good when they do a comeback. Wish someone would catch the bug & be the same kind of entity though. Now is exactly the age to talk about it all. And music is something that gets into your blood. These days it's all electronic crap mostly though.
@Alex-ms1tt6 жыл бұрын
@@KasCalwein you may think they're shitty rappers but they're a big reason why Zack got into rapping, and all the band members say that public enemy and C.H were a huge inspiration behind ratm

I bought the RATM home video in the 5th grade on vhs. It had bunch of SITE shows from all over the world and it showed a couple performances from each venue. The video opened up with this performance and I was blown away! This band performed with so much passion. I must’ve watched that hour long video 15x a week. Till this day I still get goosebumps when I hear/watch this performance. These guys were ahead of their time. THE BEST!

I remember my dad playing that DVD for me when I was a kid and sitting on the couch and just being blown away by how explosive their live music sounded and how much energy they carried within the stage. Always blew my mind how passionate they were about getting their voices heard and the emotion put into their performances.
