I've been turning wrenches on heavy trucks for 35 years, I use a US General full bank tech cart as my daily tool cart. I've had it for a couple of years and have NEVER had an issue with it. All of my deep, standard and mid size sockets are Sunex. I've never had one break, shatter, split or fail in any way. I have Snap On, and Matco ratchets as they both make the best ratchets. I use Milwaukee cordless tools because their warranty is simply better than the tool trucks cordless warranties. When you can, buy Snap On Pliers as they are in a class all their own. Keep driving on young man, I know you'll be successful.

Good Advice Patrick, As in any trade, it’s important for young technicians, entering into it to listen to seasoned technicians that have been in the trade and take their advice. The only other advice that I would add to yours is, don’t forget that there are secondary market such as eBay, pawn shops, and estate sales that I’ve picked up high-end tool truck tools for 25% or less that it would’ve cost me coming off the truck.

I’m also a Chrysler tech and CTA makes a 17.5 size socket for those Hornets and Renegades swollen lug bolts. Also if you start flashing cars your gonna want a charger especially the 4xE wranglers if you have to flash the bpcm or idcm there’s a chance that you could be just flashing that or 3 other modules along with it. And do your factory training and the master tech training!

Tekton sockets are good starters but I’ve found at least with the 3/8 line is if you use a socket everyday for six months it starts to want to round bolts and wears out. The good part of tekton is they have an excellent warranty department and make it easy to warranty an item.

Or......don't buy off the truck and get Capri, Tekton, Gearwrench, and ICON .. You don't need MAC, Matco, and Snap-on right out of the gate 8:13.. keep the Millwaukee.. the SnapOn isn't an upgrade... trust☝️

I'm done buying tools for the most part. I pay the tool man 25 a week. I treat it like prison so I have money on the books. That way if I need something I'm ahead or it's already paid off.

Tell him to invest in Milwaukee power tools instead, way better by far only good power tool snap on makes in my opinion is the ct761adb
