As someone who plays Sns, the fact that I will not only get an attack boost from offensive guard while doing metsu, but also an extra boost from blood awakening while at the same time healing, this is one of my favorite skills in the game already and is going to be will me for a long time.

Very good idea, I might make myself a build around that, we definitely have the 4-slots for a Guardian+ Jewel, and the Slots Augmentation to turn one of the 2 slots into a 3 or 4 slot

yeah, not to mention weapons that are faster with smaller base damage will benefit more like SnS with metsu trigger, 40 raw and 30 ele on SnS is pretty high and we can somewhat trigger it easy if you can parry it. But also it involves partbreaker lvl 3 which means oil / sharp will be really good to spam since it goes up to additional lvl 5 that is only available to oil users making it much more better at this build.

Primordial vs Velkhana isn’t the first time an elder is depicted as triumphing over another through a scripted in-game interaction - of course we had Nergigante scraping TeoLunaKush, Narwa battering home invaders and Amatsu smacking up Valstrax. It is the first time, by virtue of damage numbers, the loser was unable to inflict any damage back onto the winner. Nergis prey still get a hit in, invaders get a few swings on Narwa and Valstrax lands a dive bomb on Amatsu. But though the animation depicts Velkhana stabbing Primordial, no numbers are dealt. Scorned, on the other hand, cares not. Delightful.

I think this would work really well with the hammer as well as the GS, because the impact crater can easily deal over 1k damage with the 3rd hit, making the 4th hit do even more, plus it can consistently do 500+ damage on normal swings

I would also say, get an bit of Mail of Hellfire/Dragon Conversion, Dereliction and the necessary Pieces for Blood Awakening and Go nuts on Decoration and Qurious Melding and you have Tanking+ self heal with Damage increase for DAYS. And you can use that with most Melee Weapons NOT just heavy Hitters

P-Zeno set is absolutely a must have set for fun. I have a pierce bow build with his full armor and weapon and enough decos to make it easily compete with strife/zerker. Still need more testing, but its just a blast to use.

My set before this update was a Furious Dragon Conversion set, with several things like Mail of Hellfire, Powder Mantle, and Bloodlust crafted on, so I felt like I was pretty set. The moment I saw what Primordial had to offer I immediately decided I would switch over. The FDC I had would probably outdamage it, but with how I play Blood Awakening just looks so much more fun, using the 3 BA pieces with Risen Kushala helm and Risen Shagaru Waist and crafting on PM and MoH is already everything important I like, and if I want to go the extra mile I can even still get FDC on that too, it would just take a LOT of rng with crafting and talismans, but it's possible, and by the end of it I'm left with SO MANY free slots it's unbelievable. I can't believe how good this is, it feels like something I'm finally completely satisfied with.

Also this could make for an interesting rage slash great sword set. Since most of the time you're tanking a lot of hits it really helps when you're able to heal back up after without having the need to sheath and chug a potion. That's really the only gripe I have for rage slash playstyle.

After a few testing I realized that you will end up using the 2nd buff (40 raw and 30 ele) maybe 2 or 3 times. I wished Blood Rite would trigger by just hitting any part because it takes too long to brake a part and keep hitting it consistently to really benefit from this skill. Imo it's not worth it for casual hunters. Heaven-Sent is a way more useful skill. Only speedrunners will benefit from it as they will be able to use it according to a scripted hunt.

There's 5 skills I know of for dealing with spiri birds. Chamelos deco 1 slot, spiri bird call deco 1 slow, spiri bird deco for rampage slot on weapons, food buff. These 4 combined will get you max hp in around 10 seconds since it can give you up to a 4x bonus for everything you try to collect and or you can let the passive activate. The last skill is known as "git gud" you don't need spiri birds or any of the previous skills if you're not going to get hit anyway right ;)

I know I commented a day ago, but I do see some value in Blood Awakening on the way to higher Anomaly Ranks - if you get hit a lot by Afflicted Monsters, you'll have Bloodblight a lot. Also, this is a solid skill for Normal 3 bowguns, especially LBG. With Blood Awakening's bonus maxed out, I've seen raw get as high as 650+ with enough buffs, which equates to about 400+ damage on Khezu's face, which is 80 to shot.

It works like Recovery Up but exclusive to heals from Bloodrite The value is 10% and it stacks with Recovery Up armor skill + Dango skill So for example, if you’re dealing 1000 damage in a hit that would normally heal 100 HP with Bloodrite level 3, using those skills can give you: Recovery up 3 : 30% Dango Medic(Hi) : 20% Prime Malzeno weapon skill : 10% Total HP heal will be 160

how does element interact with blood rite? Dual blades does almost 0 raw maybe like 35 per hit but element makes everything 100+ per hit. I've noticed I heal a ton with blood rite and bloodblight even with dual blades.

@@savionmcqueen8944 As far as I can tell in testing- Blood Rite runs off the final damage value dealt to the monster with some wobble, probably due to motion values of the moves used. It doesn't seems to care about Raw vs Ele, it's just final damage dealt.

So a new dual blades build I have in mind would be: P Malzeno chest, gloves and boots, one of them augmented with dragon conversion. Risen valstrax helm and waist. One of the armor pices augmented with mail of hellfire. A talisman that has furious +3 in it. Then all the crit and elemental exploits stuff in the jewels. Also est a dango for more elemental resistance, so more damage from furious. You cluld also use P Malzeno helm at the cost of augmening one more dragon conversion to have 3 bloodrite

Important question! If the milestones for triggering Blood Awakening is based on "amount of health you (would have) recovered", does Recovery Up count towards that? For example, in a case where I would have healed for 49 health without Recovery Up, adding Recovery Up would make me gain more than 49 health, so would Blood Awakening trigger? If so, this makes Recovery Up massively important for getting to that 150hp threshold quickly.

5:49 sure 1 level of dereliction is only 25 and this is 40 raw and 30 element but at level 3! Plus you also need to invest in bloodrite(most likely 3 levels) then you have to break the part of the monster and hit it to active it for 30 seconds and you have to do enough damage to activate it to the second rank which is where the big bonus is. So why compare this to dereliction when dereliction is 100% up time(plus dereliction actives other skills such as resentment and strife)…

Me & Blood Rite don’t get along. Either I focus on the head and break it but by then the monster is already half dead Or it’s a monster like Shagaru who moves way too much to actually focus on any particular part, & if I break anything at all it’s by accident The whole part break requirement ruins the whole thing I wish it was like health regen in world where you gain health back hitting them anywhere Plus there is nothing meaningful left to hunt with this set anyway so… whatever. It was a nice run MH Rise! Off to play Diablo IV!

The healing in world was extremely OP. The break part requirement is a way to balance it. Also you can use this for the special investigations. There's still plenty to use the armor set for. And y'know, it's still just fun to play the game.

With a good set, getting and maintaining 100dps isnt terribly hard, on an optimalish hunt, you can get near permanent uptime. However, HOWEVER, i dont see this becoming meta, but i will make some sets using this, because i can see this becoming a staple set in the Off Meta meta...so to speak, with the comfort of bloodrite and part braker, and to use them to fuel dps, i can see a lot of nice combos you can run with this.

This skill is very good on a ZSD Swax. Bloodrite heals you back if you manage to clutch on a broken part then that focus damage on a broken part easily triggers Blood Awakening.

7:20 this is a tricky situation because unless it's tested specifically with roars it's hard to tell if it really works, because even with small barrel bombs you still loose a tiny bit of health if you parry it with a gs

Blood awakening is one of those skills where if you’re going for autistic levels of min, maxing for damage it’s most likely not gonna show up outside of bloodblight hunts but for traditional fun hunting it’s a very useful skill If you’re fighting a monster, that can be swiftly part broken or it’s a blood blight hunt

My only problem with blood awakening is that it's good with lance. Heaven sent is also good with lance. They take the same armor slots (reasonably so), so now if have to choose between which skill to use.

now that all the monsters are in the game now and we dont have to worry about any meta changes. next time you make a best greatsword build, could you do one for the strongarm style and one for the rage slash style. of course strongarm stance build is likely to be better, but i (and im sure others) enjoy the other playstyle more overall and would love to see what you can come up with including the new malzeno skills for both.

I don't think you need a hard-hitting weapon to take full advantage of this skill. I have an insect glaive build that has 3 levels of bloodrite and only 2 levels of recovery up that will easily heal 90% of my health bar with only one triangle+circle combo (ps4 player). Pair bloodrite, recovery up, and the new weapons together and every weapon can easily reach the 150 healing threshold.

From playing around it doesn't necessarily give enough of an uptime if you are just doing break a part and heal through blood rite . However I think there a little more testing to be had cause there are technically switch skills that do heal on hit some maybe?

ist not the strongest talent for elemental build, but for raw, you might try to use it you can actualy try to use it with elemental weapon, but that doesn't use stamina alot, like switch axe, sns elemental build

I get we had an issue with Element being kinda mid in Iceborne but like this is way too much, cant wait to Qurious Craft Dragon Conversion onto the set with my Dragon Conversion 2, Crit Element 2 3.3.0 talismen and run house tho I wont be using it with Dragon seeing as Dragon Element benefits from Dragonheart more then this skill I think seeing as Valstrax Soul give 20% extra dragon element ontop of the Dragon you get from Conversion, but the other elements benefit from this skill greatly

I'm very interested if lance would find any use in this 🤔 I already run 1 bloodrite just for healing since you are always hitting the broken face of the monster. And one insta-block into cross slash easily nets you 600-700+ damage (if you hit both obviously). The big problem I see with this skill is when you get to high level Anomaly Investigations. Their parts take so long to break that you will lose out on damage early on or waste time taking damage just to get Bloodblight.

i was expecting the skill to give yourself bloodblight . I dont like this skill because ive never needed to run blood rite because i dont really get hit and i run passive health regen from kushala blessing 3 and super recovery dango. And bloodblight isn't something i get either since im usually not getting hit. As a lance user this armor is useless to me

Such a wasted opportunity, I'd have rather had a new super endgamey challenge boss with amazing armor or something instead. Couldn’t you just use dereliction to drain enough health you would always be recovering health mixed with blood rite

I never played this game but I’ve heard of it, never thought it would look so mobile game-ish. It’s like one of those fake scamming mobile game ads but it’s actually playable and it’s a real game 😂
